You would still need your token yes. The game is essentially exactly what your ps4 is you can launch remote play which sits you onto the home screen of your ps4 and you launch ffxiv like you would on your ps4 normally. You log in and play just the same though I would recommend if you plan to play on vita to change your controls to be a little more vita friendly (swap the l2/r2 and l1/r1 around so that l1 and R1 are the ones that you hold to use abilities and then disable the l3 and r3 to disable accidentally tapping the back pad and activating lock on randomly). I have had no issues even when playing over wifi from work with my ps4 at home. There is no noticeable lag when playing via networked mode to the ps4 and over wifi from another location while there is some lag it's extremely minor.
