PS4 Basic Questions

A few things I could really use some help on is whether there is an easy way to compare items side by side without looking at one then losing it and looking at the other? I always seem lost and confused by the map, I click on the quest to see where it is on the map but I usually have no clue where that is in relation to other places. The only thing that is helping right now is the slow process of name and location memorization. Also I am lost with the chat feature and linkshells. What the heck is a linkshell? Is there no voice chat? Can I use an external keyboard somehow. Any tips for utilization of simpler ways of communicating would be helpful. I'm in a free company and would like to be more involved but it is tough with the communication problem.

1.There isn't a way to compare items side by side yet but I do believe the devs posted something about it being in the works iirc
2. You're pretty much dealing with the map the best way you can, just try to remember areas and locations
3. A linkshell is a chat channel for anyone currently part of it, sorta like a free company but just chat.
4. There is no voice chat that is part of the game but you can use an USB keyboard for easier typing. If voice chat is a concern, there's always teamspeak, mumble, raidcall, vent

Also with the voice chat, you can use the PS4's voice chat to talk to other PS4 users ^^

I appreciate it, as obvious as that seems it did not occur to me. I just got my PS4 and this is my first MMO, I feel like I'm playing a computer game most the time when I'm on.

That's because it is a computer game made to work on a console.

UI changing and use, chatting, and macro writing become much much easier with a mouse and keyboard.
You can still play 99% of the time with your controller but you can use them when needed if they are sitting beside you.

Np ^^ you get used to the maps and names of places after a while, especially since quests have you going all over

plugging a keyboard into the usb slot makes it a lot faster/easier to type. it is kind of uncomftorable. i do know you can sync up a blutooth keyboard to the ps4 as well.

ps4 and controller in general is a pain to start out with. but after a month or two its second nature and would not have it any other way. Good luck!
