FFXIV world map showing Garlean Control..?

So while talking to my FC a topic came up about the world map and locations not yet released. One member mentioned seeing a map once, back in the 1.0 time frame, where a large world map was shown depicting our continent, but also all of the other landmasses on the world map that are also under Garlean control as well.

Cant find anything at all, anywhere.

Wondering if this is something anyone else is aware of, or was this originally done as a hoax/troll type of thing without any actual truth to it.

I think it was fan made, and was mostly speculation based on what little we knew at the time. Though never saw it myself, only official map I've seen is the same one you can see around the world and get as a FC house decoration which only shows Vylbrand, Eorzea, and a small chunk if Aldenaard. Heck, I don't think Doma is even shown on it, largely because the most recent patch has been the first mention of it even existing.

Yeah, the only official FFXIV 'world map' only shows Aldernard and Vlybrand - the rest of Hydaelyn is not depicted:

Even the ingame map shows certain cities and regions that are yet to be opened. And don´t forget additional space inside these already open regions. There is still plenty of space on most maps ^^.
