    Marking macro with a mouse

I use a gamepad on pc and don't use my mouse much. If possible, Id like to create a macro that when I click a target, it begins the marking process. If theres a single target, it just marks it as 1. If there are 2 targets, then it goes through and marks 1 and 2, and so on.

Im really bad with making macros so if somebody could help, that'd be awesome. Also, since I am a scumbag gamepad user, could I add additional abilities on my screen? So I have my cross hot bars from the gamepad, but basically I just want to throw my finger sandwich button on the screen somewhere so that I can click it mid battle, instead of pressing start, inventory, clicking on the food.

Not sure if its possible, but if its very simple, forgive me, Im pretty dumb.

That can not be done regarding to your macro as far as I see it....Though I might be wrong.

Regarding to your second question, do you mean you want extra cross hot bar?

I'm unsure of ways to make it change target for you, I just manually mark.

For marking you can make this a macro for shield lob to mark the mob you pull and will focus on first.

    /mk attack1 <t>
    /ac "Shield Lob" <t>

As for marking everything else, I have a crossbar setup specifically for marking (hold R1/RB and square/X in my case, cross bar 4 iirc). If you open the marking menu you can hit square (PS controller) or X (360 pad, not cross on PS) on one of the marks and select "set to hotbar" or alternatively click and drag the icon to the spot you want it. You can actually mark pretty fast with a controller once you get used to where the marks are.

As for putting an item on the cross/hot bars you can do the same thing as the marks.

If you want them on a keyboard hotbar you can do that too. In order to use the bars you need to go to character config hotbar settings to enable specific ones. And to move it where you want just open the HUD layout (start, all the way right, HUD layout) and make it so you have access to the hot bars as well. Just set a bar where you want it, like hotbar 7 (a vertical bar) to the side of the screen.

Hope that helps. Sorry if it's a bit convoluted, wrote it in a rush. Might come back and edit to make it more clear if it needs to be.

ok awesome, that is all i needed to know. that will help me a lot. i didn't want to add anything to my cross hot bars because they are full and i operate off of a number of click throughs to tell what bar I'm on without looking. if i added a 4th set it would screw me up lol.

I used to do the same thing, just tap the R1 (or RB) button to go to bar two, then tap it twice to get back to bar one. I eventually set up several bars for various needs (like a cross bar to change class/job quickly) and learned to hold down the button and hit a face button or dpad direction to get a certain set. It's actually more efficient once you get used to it.

You don't need to, but I'd suggest learning hold and hit a button method. Bars 1-3 are class/job specific, while 4-8 are universal bars. If you have the marks on bar 4 or your mounts and companion commands on bar 8 they will be there for everything. If you play arcanist controller only you'll get used to it pretty quickly since the pet hotbar is default as tap R1 to switch to it.

On PC, you can also set up some normal ability bars to go along with your crossbar. You can even keybind them to the number pad without interfering with anything else. I play with a controller on a 55 inch TV with my keyboard in my lap when I need those keybinds. I have things like marks, food, stances, etc on it and it. It's pretty cool to be able to do both.
