Good Morning
Dark Matter to replace ALL repair mats, seems a little generic to me. I understand the inconvenience of having different repair materials clogging up inventory space. I understand the inconvenience of having to find someone with repair mats or having to locate them yourself.
I understand that the repair system isn't convenient! It's not supposed to be!
Repairing things takes time, and it should be that way. If you go out into battle and spend a decent amount of time in the field you are likely to damage your weapon. It takes a while to break a weapon with our current system if you are using a rank appropriate weapon. I don't feel the time it takes to break a weapon or to repair it is inappropriate at all.
Limited amounts of space is an issue that plagues everyone irl or in-game. I keep a few inventory spaces on my retainer to hold my most used and most rare repair mats. When going into battle I throw my weapon repair mats in my bazaar. (I usually dont even need it before I get back into town, but just in case)
It takes time to go to the MW and find your repair mats, or to shout out for an item to be repaired. However I have never found it to take an inappropriate amount of time.
For me removing the repair items and replacing them with dark matter seems very generic and makes me lose some interest in the game. I disagree with the decision to do this and hope that they will change it back.
Some ides that I feel would have been better would be to have the repair npc move into a repair store. ( there are planty of places already in game that would work perfectly in each town) Have them sell all repair materials for marked up prices. (this would help to create a gil sink but not hurt the gatherers ability to profit off repair mats. That way if an item wasnt found in the wards you always have the option to instant buy for just a bit more) Finally have the repair npc repair to 100%. Then you could have the old repair npc still repair to 75% for a smaller amount of gil as they are apprentices.
What do you think?
