It would be not a new features, but an old from 1.0
We are against it coming back to ARR because we know how it would end.
It would end that you don't play anymore the class you want, but be forced to play the class the party want you to play.

The abuse situation always has to be considered, whether you like it or not. Especially when it comes to player treatment towards others - an environment that feels ugly and unfriendly, in a game where you have to play with other people, will push players away faster than anything else you can do.
Telling people "just play with friends" isn't a solution either, especially for players who aren't online at primetime. I'm in one of the largest FCs on my server, but that doesn't mean there'll be more than 2-3 of us on when I'm playing at 2AM.
The odds of that vote kick passing in DF if someone is trying to help the party are extremely slim. If you actually think people are going to have the power to tell people what to or how to play in a random environment, I suggest you get a Catscan immediately. People already don't listen to anything they don't want to hear."Ok, guys, we do plan x here. It is the easiest and fastest way. All DPS change to BLM to kill the trash mobs with some AoE. Then at the endboss back to melee except to DRG for focused damage. If you are not ok wih it, you get vote-kicked"
People already force speedrun to the others in a DF party. This would be also forced to the other players in the DF.
Ok it's easy
A. You can only change to needed class/class who left
B.a player has to volunteer to change
C.others vote on change
D.cant change while loot is open
Whether they have the power to actually make it go through, won't change the fact they can - and someone inevitably will - attempt it. And even if the other three players are totally fine people, they're gonna be walking out with a negative impression of the others, because people naturally remember negative experiences more than positive ones. The odds of that vote kick passing in DF if someone is trying to help the party are extremely slim. This isn't to say the system can't be done, but it all has to be considered carefully. We got Vote Kick to deal with jerk players or AFKs; but it was weakly implemented with no real 'punishment', so people go "okay I'm out kick me or I'll just sit here AFK". Which then became a problem that creates negative experiences.
MMOs - RPG or otherwise - can live or die based on the community they have. More specifically, the perceptions of that community. People don't like playing a game if they have to play with other people and their experience is that other people are jerks; even if it's only 1 in 10 or 1 in 20 players they play with that are jerks, they're going to be the ones remembered and it feels like a larger problem. Establish that "the community is kinda crappy" to someone, and those players stand out even more.
And then those players quit.
This, for instance, is a much more thurough variant addressing concerns that have been brought up.

I'd also like vote abandon changed/removed
I.e initiate vote those who say no are then given a choice it could say "5/8 people voted to abandon, do you still want to stay?"
But maybe that's too complicated
When you are a good tank/healer people are always putting pressure on you to tank/heal for them. This would make it worse. They could add to pressuring you in middle of dungeon. Example: my static says let's run dungeon X. I want to be DD. I choose my DD class and one person goes, "okay, I guess I'll heal but I'm not really that good at it." She's right. She sucks big time. So much so I'm starting to wonder if she's doing it on purpose. So every one agrees I should be healer and I'm like not trying to offend anyone but screw this I'm sick of being forced to tank and heal for them.
Since voting to kick was also brought up I think it sucks. It just gives a group of peeps a way to hurt someone. Already it's an insult it doesn't need a penalty as well. What's next? Go to the gal/guys house and burn them in their sleep? There's just never enough pain in the world your offended asses had to add more.
As stated above
A.only change when somebody leaves
B.voluntary change
That is why people are suggesting you can only need on the class/job you originally entered the dungeon as.Could still be abused, think about a group of 3 enter, and the person wanting healing gear just didn't feel like healing but wants to need on potential on last chest.
Before they get to last boss they vote kick the healer and then vote to change the person who wants healing gear into healer. Then a random DD joins oblivious to what just happened.
I would love the ability to change classes inside a dungeon, as others have said, I've had cases where healer drops but it's a good group, and I just wish I could switch to healer so we could finish it
