Changing Class in Dungeons

Soo I just did brayflox and our healer had to go. So I said I'd leave and rejoin as my healer. I left and searched for party in progress but I kept getting new groups so they decided to leave the dungeon cause I couldn't join.

What do you guys think about being able to change class if one is missing?
Then if the tank leaves and someone's got a tank you don't have to wait for 15 minutes before a new tank joins.

There was a thread about this previously and think that most folks agreed that, with restrictions (whole party has to agree to it, etc), this could be nice.

Yeah I was thinking something like that too, like a window shows up "XX wants to change class to XX" and then people can vote yes or no

The abuse potential is too high.

It would end up with healers that want to switch to DPS and use cross class abilities to heal the group so the run will go quicker.

Eventually it will be expected for the healer to do this and for the tank to be overheated to accommodate the gimp healing.

Possibly, but wouldn't that be addressed (even if only somewhat) by the 'vote' idea that has been put forth? I.e. the rest of the group needs to agree to it?

Maybe even add on that it is only possible if the party is down a member or two?

As long as they could add an option like others mentioned to vote to change classes this would be great. As long as we can prevent people from switching to grief others I see this being a great idea.

The run would go far, far slower, given how terrible heals are for the 2 DPS jobs that can cross class them (BLM and SMN). You wouldn't be able to pull more than one pack, that's for sure. It would go faster if the healer was just DPSing in Cleric Stance, which many already do.

I think it would be great to allow you to change to (only) a missing job whenever your party is down a player (someone has dropped, etc). If you lose a tank or healer, change jobs and fill much quicker from the DPS queue. I really don't see any way this could be abused.
