    Solo Dungeons

Hi, was trying to reply to a post in gen discussion but my level won't allow. The question being asked was about the option to solo dungeons being added. It seems to always split opinion, but I'm new to MMO's and brought this game mainly for the FF brand. While I do dabble in the duty finder, I have mainly levelled to the point I am on the main missions, side quests, challenges and fates. I do plan on starting dungeon runs properly once I reach level 50, but for now I don't feel experienced enough and don't want to hold the veterans back.

However, the option to do the odd dungeon solo or with my companion is something I'd be interested in.

This may be a MMO, but its also a Final Fantasy game and an early release title for the PS4 at a time when there is a limited number of games available. There are bound to be players like me who enjoy working through the game solo being a FF fan and only party up when the game requires it.

What does every one else think?

We don't need to give more reasons for people not to play with eachother. This is an MMO not a singleplayer game.

Its not about giving reasons to not play together, as stated, I understand its an MMO, its about having the option when it suits the circumstances. Although I'm sure its not usually the case, I had to wait hours to progress my story the other night as I couldn't seem to find a party for the required dungeon. When I did finally get in, I got berated for not standing in a certain place on Ifrit, although I still took him out, just not the way someone else thought I should. It was a bit daunting for a noob like me, my chocobo is much more forgiving less critical

It's better to get used to interacting with groups while leveling, especially if you find them daunting now.

The game is an mmo, we have established that. However the main quest line is almost all single player bar the trials/ dungeons. This was always gonna be a purchase for some ps4 players looking for an rpg to play. Mmo does not mean your have to exclusively play with others. Perhaps I enjoy the chat, or in game economy but like to quest alone, or as I'm playing at the moment, parties every couple of hours in a dungeon followed by an hour or so of questing, leves, crafting and generally potting about.

I've seen the "you should play a single player" game argument a few times thrown about, however I don't see the problem with playing the game whichever way people chose unless it broke the mechanics of the game. I also dont see ths issue with requesting things i may enjoy. Judging by some of the posts I've seen, there are players on both sides of the fence so those who want to play exclusively with others will find plenty of like minded players to play with.

Also not everyone is an ass. Most people will help you if you mention that you are new. For queue times, it helps a little if you click all the languages.

Doesn't really help him if he gets put in an all French party for example and unable to communicate or understand XD Can't really ask for help then.

Yes you can. Many non-English speakers will use the auto-translate chat options in macros. And if you use them, others are likely to respond in turn. Outside of that, it's a matter of following cues. Another party member might take up the role of marking targets if you're a beginner tank, and say with auto-translate "This one first."

Bottom line is that people should really learn the auto-translate text options and how to use them in macros if they run the chance of playing with non-english speakers and vice versa. I play on Tonberry which is about 60/40 non-english (non-english are not all Japanese players either) to english, and it's impossible to function in a team without them. Almost everyone uses them.
