New to end-game

Hey there,

I am just wondering how is someone supposed to get the weapon for the A Relic Reborn quest. I've been trying to buy that stuff from people, but no one is even speaking (exept for those sell gold/usd bot lol). Just wondering if someone is on the Jenova server and could gimme an hand with the Materia-Enhanced Aeolian Scimitar.

Not sure if this goes in this section of the forum, but we'll see i guess.

You can buy if from Market Boards (or make it yourself but then you'd need to level up relevant craft classes) and then buy the materias and carbonized matter and shout for crafter to have it Melded. If it's not available on Market Boards shout for the crafter in a city or in Revenant's Toll - you should get hold of someone fairly quickly. You need to get hold of Blacksmith and - preferably - have the items needed for the craft - see recipe here - most of the items are easy obtainable in the game or from Market Boards, the most "rare" one is the Blunt Aeolian Scimitar which is as a reward from leve quest but should be purchaseble on Market boards as well. Then just agree the tip / fee with crafter for the item crafting (you don't need HQ version for the Relic Quest) and as also for the melding of the materias. You can buy those on MB too (or spirit bond your own but that might take a while as it's - partially - luck based upon converting the spiritbonded items). Be sure to get the EXACT type and level / tier of materia needed otherwise it will be not accepted by the Quest NPC!

You also have a chance to get a Blunt Aeolian Scimitar from the 2nd chest in Wanderer's Palace. It's booby-trapped and a group of beetles will spawn when you approach it, but you can just open the chest even if they are hitting you or not.

Most groups skip the chest so if you decide to hunt for it in the dungeon, you can go back and grab the chest after the run is finished and the rest of the party leaves.

Spiritbonding any tank-focused gear will have a chance of producing the battledance III materia you need.

The Grade 3 Carbonized Matter you will need for melding might be the only item you won't be able to get on your own, but it should be cheap on the boards.

Well this explains everything i wish to know. Only sad that people actually sells stuff pretty high on Jenova. The regular Aeolian Scimitar goes for 150k+, and i didn't find any Battledance III materia for sell, but i guess i'll just try to get some off Spiritbond gears. I mean 150k is my whole ''Fortune'' lol, was hoping it would have been a bit cheaper, or actually get the Enhanced weapon for 150k or so. Ohh well :/

Jenova is a new server, not many are high level crafting to be able to make the items needed yet. Once more get up there the prices will drop and stabalize.

The few that can make the items are charging a lot due to supply and demand, everyone needs the items for their relic quest and not much supply yet so prices will be high.

This is one of the drawbacks of a new server.
