    Win trading

I wonder what developers stance is on this, or if they're even monitoring PvP enough to know its happening?

For those that don't know, win trading is when two groups queue up at the same time with the hopes of facing each other, where they will then throw the match for easy EXP.

To me, that undermines the effort anyone who is PvPing legitimately is putting in. People who are actually playing PvP properly face such a slow trek to r40 compared to people who are just trading wins.

Not asking for players who do this to have their rank/marks rolled back or anything, I just want to know what the developers think of this. I mean, it's a pretty brilliant sign that there is something wrong with PvP as it stands, seeing as the best way to progress in PvP is to not really PvP at all...

There are multiple groups on my server doing this and many others on Aether data center. Queues are already slow enough as it is but this just makes it worse. The whole act of win trading is pretty pathetic and the skill of some of the people I've seen who are 35+ is laughable. If SE was smart they'd take some sort of action against this because it's making the whole PvP situation even worse.

Well, if they were smart I doubt this would have happened to such a large scale as it is. This is just a symptom of their bare minimum approach to PvP, the new gear just made it even worse because people actually want that gear and they've locked it behind a wall of tedium.

If they were smart, by now we'd have seen:
    • The PvP Challenge Log being stand alone in the PvP Profile, with far more challenges than just "Win 3 matches and play 10". That alone could fix the EXP/Marks issue.
    • The current map being randomized. Simple solution to make things slightly less monotonous, take the current map and adjust the pillars/walls.
    • The current mode being changed to a best of 3 or 5 rounds, with each round rewarding as currently does. Again, very simple to implement.
    • Different game types. Capture the Flag and King of the Hill should be simple enough, the scoring system would need to be changed, but Transportation is already in the game, as is standing in a destination to trigger a countdown (Darkhold has this mechanic).

None of those really seem all that difficult to implement at all (coming up with new challenges would probably be the hardest). The only thing preventing such adjustments is time not being allotted to PvP development, and well... It's no wonder PvP is failing when they're not putting the time to develop it. Why should we care when they apparently don't? Frontlines is going to have to be absolutely mind blowing to excuse this... Sadly after seeing Cyrodiils Campaign, I can't see Frontlines matching it, more so since I started hearing it's 8v8v8...

Win trading sucks and all, but if you can still kick their asses/ wipe the floor with them or troll them. Then why keep being so mad at them.
If you know those high rank people suck/ win traded their way to the top then there should be no reason to feel any different than you were before they implemented r40.
Just keep crushing them fair and square with you skills and the pain and jealousy of those who decided to cheese their way to the top will go away.

Tbh i haven't heard / seen win trading threads till now since pvp release and i go on here almost everyday or other day just to see what's all the commotion.
I bet like me, a lot others haven't heard of win trading and didn't care about it till r40 hear was implemented. So basically r40 is a real "game changer" in both matches and the community! Loool

Probably because it's the only real addition to PvP since its launch, with the new gear. That, and the fact that win trading is better than "legitimate" PvPing are both pretty pathetic in their own way. I'm not mad at people who win trade in the slightest, I just think it's the perfect example of how pathetic PvP has become in XIV at the moment.
