The problem is they implemented a 3-4 week hazing period in the worst setting to beta test a PvP system.

if the matchmaking system was the way it was before we would never have this problem. Its a fking pain for r30+ players to get into matches. While i que up for 1 match i have friends rank 10-15 getting instaques and completeing 2-3 matches before i could even get in 1. Yeah the whole matchmaking system is fked up now
matchmaking system is FCKED. my buddy bard, rank 33, gets 3 pops within one hour, queued for 50s only english. i'm queued for 50s only (bard also, r30) english also, rank 30. ZERO pops, notsureifsrs SE. I had 2 melee buddies also one ranked 31 the other 29-30. one that's 31 is getting more pops
loled so hard, cause the naked dance off shit is so true hahahaLet's just face it. The FFXIV community is too pansy assed to allow for decent pvp in the game. Pvp requires an aggressive mindset amongst its players to be successful, especially in the arena format SE chose to start with. Unfortunately most of the people that enjoy FF enjoy the cute, snuggly, fluffy minions and the completely inane storyline and would rather have naked lallafel dance-offs then actually get in an arena and pound face with other players.
Rank should have been kept for titles and vanity gear to glamor. NOT vertical power progression. As all that does is raise the entry requirements and splits the PvP population amongst different groups to try and keep a semblance of competition.
Or you get players getting facerolled due to gear disparities.
Present system puts those who PvP a lot in the higher brackets making the lower brackets less and less populated, A side product of vertical power progression in regards to PvP. Thus highlighting my first statement.
If you only PvP for gear, then you aren't a PvPer.
My only problem with PVP is the QUE times..
Is no one doing PVP or something?
PS3 limitations
FF MMOs were never known for PVP. And now you know why.
FF MMOs are 2 , so there is absolutly no rule.
Yoshida is a fan of the greatest mmo pvp ( daoc ) so this one could be mutch greater in a near future.
Que times are huge and not only that, but the rewards for the time put into QUE ups are killing my drive to continue. Alas I must stand strong and hope for the best. Something however must be done.
you re absolutly right on this point.
I never understood why anyone would want to play this game solely for end game PVE raids, boring as hell. This game could have some great PVP (the entire purpose of devoting so much time into a MMO, IMO), but they are just dropping the ball on it completely. Only reason I'm here is my gaming PC shit the bed so I cant play DAOC anymore so I'm stuck here on the PS3, waiting for front lines. But they cant get this right. Summer is right around the corner so chances are I will be taking a break til fall and hopefully itll be better.
