Rank 30..... 1000 min + queue time..screenshot.. I think it's time to quit this game.

I am considering quitting this game. When I play an MMO it needs to have PVP, there's a reason I never played everquest, or any of the other big hitting MMOs out there, because they were missing PVP. So I considered playing this game because I am a fan of the FF series and amazingly enough they included PVP. So PVP was released, and I had a ton of fun then something happened, people who sucked at PVP and didn't understand that you are going to be face rolled in any pvp environment started crying.. and now the people who have devoted and dedicated the most time in PVP are the ones who get F__KCD. This is what my last queue time has been like as Rank 30.. I thought I'd leave it just to see how long it would go. It seems to max out at 999 min. I shouldn't even be shelling out 10+ dollars for an MMO and putting up with this shit...

I tried re-queuing a few times then I finally just let it sit...

This is what happens when you listen to whiny children you can't pvp SE. Got it?!

In a few days or weeks we'll start seeing the win traders from Gilgamesh start to face roll the normal queues. I'm not really sure I want to grind through that, I pugged heals to rank 30 and it was pretty brutal, I never complained but dam, it was pretty demoralizing at times. This will be no different.

Mods, devs, Yoshida (Mr DAOC avid pvper) tell me why I should keep giving you more of my money for nothing.

Mostly because my cousin wanted me join him, and it was fun for a while, the PVE portion is fine, but I kinda just blew right through it, I expected more out of the PVP in this game.

Maybe eventually... but SE is very young in the pvp realm. Frontlines has good potential at being their first "good" shot at pvp; The stuff so far in XI and XIV definitely smells of inexperience.

Yup, it was the promise of pvp that got him to check the game out, lol!

FFXIV arena definitely needed a matchmaking system, but it should have done something similar to other MMOs... When a person with a high or low rank queues up, the game searches for people with similar ranks to match them with. However, if none of those ranks are available after a certain period in the queue, it will widen the parameters to eventually include ALL players queuing. So, basically, if people around your rank are queuing, it will force you to play against them... but if not, you will eventually get to play. A rank 30 person won't be waiting 1000+ minutes for a queue...

So we have this problem.. Pvp is announced and implemented, people take it for a test drive. The dedicated few die hards are soon outranking the vast majority of casuals. Mass rapage ensues. Casuals fall in droves complaining about how unfair pvp is. SE attempts to fix it by casting die hards into the outer darkness of ridiculous queue times. Casuals fall away from even trying because... meh... I have a lallafel photo contest to take part in. Now the queue is broken for high ranks and no casuals bother queuing for low ranks. There are ways to game the system if your dedicated enough, which is how we have win traders hitting rank 40 already. But if you're not a part of one of those particular link shells then you are left in the cold. It's a shame really. It wouldn't take much for SE to fix the problems but because there are so few dedicated pvpers in the FF community, they can happily ignore it. Much more important to add some new fuzzy slippers and i110 oven mitts with hearts on them.

Pvp requires an aggressive mindset amongst its players to be successful, especially in the arena format SE chose to start with. Unfortunately most of the people that enjoy FF enjoy the cute, snuggly, fluffy minions and the completely inane storyline and would rather have naked lallafel dance-offs then actually get in an arena and pound face with other players.

There's plenty of people who would do PvP, if it was remotely interesting. A single 4v4 arena with a combat system that doesn't really lend itself to PvP doesn't cut it for most people.

Having all the abilities unlocked at the start might tempt me to give it a go to get a feel for them before Frontlines, but as it stands queuing for 2 hours to get stomped by rank 30-40s inside a minute? I'd rather go play a game that's more focused on PvP if that's what I want to do.
