Rank 30..... 1000 min + queue time..screenshot.. I think it's time to quit this game.

A single 4v4 arena with a combat system that doesn't really lend itself to PvP doesn't cut it for most people.

Nope, Arena is just the worse system for a game with predominantly PvE players. That is completely different from a mindless script that always hits the tank. People get destroyed, then they downplay it by saying its not a pvp game. Or they are PvE carebear gamers who feel their opinions weighs more heavily then yours, those also go 'its not a pvp game'.

Frontlines is much better. Let the weaker players stand in the back and throw fireballs, let them hide in the crowd. You will find they will enjoy pvp a lot more.

An arena system itself if amazing for pvp but there is a very steep learning curve (not so much in this game even, really). If you think frontlines will have bétter pvp, you are probably a carebear.(not personally aimed at guy i quoted.)

I am pretty sure that this is a bug that has been reported before. When someone withdraws from a party after it pops, sometimes you don't get properly re-queued. Sometimes the system will pick you back up, but often it simply doesn't. As a rule, if your queue pops, it should keep popping with some frequency. If your queue stops popping for more than about the average wait time, you should definitely withdraw and re-queue.

First we must ask ourselves when all mmorpg games start separation pve from pvp like in GW2? In pve we have different skills in pvp other. FF should take example from game like aion imo. There is no true open world anyway, so SE should make for example 3 maps with open pvp, where we can fight each others, hunting, pk'ing others etc. If you dont like it you dont have to participate. No one is forcing you to go there...

Let's just face it. The FFXIV community is too pansy assed to allow for decent pvp in the game. Pvp requires an aggressive mindset amongst its players to be successful, especially in the arena format SE chose to start with. Unfortunately most of the people that enjoy FF enjoy the cute, snuggly, fluffy minions and the completely inane storyline and would rather have naked lallafel dance-offs then actually get in an arena and pound face with other players.

What's unfortunate for some can be a blessing for others. I Like the glamour gear from PvP, it's just not my thing. To each their own. But yeah, win traders and SE noob entry into the PvP world makes quite the mixture.

*I prefer female Mi'qote than pedo-lalafell, but once again, that's just me ^^

Getting to kill those people is the only reason I PVP in this game.

Even if players could get into pvp, as a lower rank (16-17ish now) pvper it's no fun dieing to players In full 30-40 ranked gear. On top of that I only get a horrible 10-20 exp and 20-30 marks? How can anyone with the lacking pvp gear ever catch up or gear decently enough to actually be able to play against those with the gear? They can't and that's why no one is playing with all the r30-40 people there is no point in it with rewards so low.

Well you just have to play at lvl 40, stuff means nothing at this lvl and you will do almost same XP and Marks as lvl 50 arena and get ilvl 70 stuff in 150-200 matchs.
And then you will be able to play VS R30 (or at least play more than 10 sec),

Or you can find 1-2 mates and try to play as a team and beat every useless R30 in solo Queue

Or you can wintrade like everyone and get 120 xp and 180 marks every 5 min.

Each time i get in arena after waiting around 45 min and see mates with around 3k HP and 0 moral at lvl 50 i just want to kill every lalafel in the world

PS : Thanks to SE, sometimes after waiting 45 min, 4 R30 are match together vs 4 useless pve stuff, allways fun to wait 45 min + 1 min to play around 20 sec.

Sorry, but you're playing the wrong game if you want pvp. The PvP in the game is definitely some of the worst I have experienced in the couple dozens of MMO's i've played

Well, there is a bit of a matchmaking system in place that pairs high ranking players with other high ranking players and same with low ranking players, buuht it only works when there is enough people in que. On Aether at least there is a huge shortage in Healer's, so everyone's que is super long save for them most of the time. ; ;.

Its funny because if there only like four high-rank healers quing and no low level ones, as a low rank player you'll be forced to wait 30min and when you do finallly get a match it will probably be against super high ranks. Clearly they need to make a Healer-only mount achievement for PvP jus like they did for PvE tanks XD
