How to level DPS classes these days?

    Hi

I recently decided to start leveling an Archer, but it felt like running into a wall.

I've leveled WHM to 50 shortly after release using mostly quests, so there aren't many quests left now.
Then I leveled Arc ,THM and Glad to around 26, using up the quests I had skipped on the WHM to that point as well as FATEs.
Now FATE groups don't seem to exist anymore, as apparently the XP from them got nerfed quite a bit.

And Dungeons... As DPS I have waittimes of 30 min+ often much longer.
Even if the tank doesn't leave after 3 minutes, the leveling rate through dungeons isn't too fast either, not to mention, what to do in between waits? I'm at a point where I ponder giving up on the archer and leveling my Glad and Marauder, as they at least get groups fast.

So, my problem is, I got no Quests anymore. There are no FATE groups anymore. Dungeons and Guildhests take forever to get a group as DPS.

So how to level DPS classes these days?

Slowly, is my solution. I do the daily roulettes with them as well as turn in beast tribe quests if they're high enough. If I want to do more than one dungeon a day I just craft or something while waiting on DF. My queue times seem shorter than yours, sometimes I'll have a 30+ minute wait but it's rare and I find I usually get something in 15-20 minutes at the most. I tend to play during peak times on my server so that may be why.

I just accept I can't level it in 3-4 days anymore, though if someone really wanted to do that I'm sure it's still possible if you solo FATE's while waiting for dungeons.

I only had Arcanist to level when ARR came out but I did most of it through leves with the occasional fate or dungeon (which I queued as I was doing leves).

Archer can solo fates very well. Even the boss fates you just wait until the last minute. Failed fates still give good XP. I'm doing my last two DPS jobs now and it's been smooth. Make the most of your wait time and use roulettes, hunting logs and challenge log xp to your advantage.

Leves, hunting logs, and nearby FATEs, while waiting for dungeon queues. As a bonus, leves offer reasonably good gear at regular intervals.

Leves replenish slowly, but assuming that you're not rushing things and stacking that rested xp, it's a painless way to make the climb.

I just leveled BRD and BLM to 50 the last couple of weeks. It was pretty painless but somewhat repetitive. Leve and Fate spam while in dungeon queue. The new hest and challenge log bonuses are a big boost as well. Don't queue for the daily roulette more than once per day - queue directly for the highest level dungeon after you get your bonus run, and if I have just reached the first level that I can get into a new dungeon before I do my daily - I will skip the roulette for that one level to get more bonus exp.

Not quite sure what you mean by this last sentence.
So suppose you just turned 28, and therefore manage to get into Haukke Manor... you'll do Hauke manually instead of signing up for the roulette? Not quite sure how that gives more xp.

I could be mistaken, but while mobs are equal level or greater you get a chain bonus. The first level that you can access a new dungeon, you're equal level with the mobs in there. Once you ding 29, you wouldn't get that bonus in Haukke any more.

Best advice I can give you: find someone in you're FC who wants to level a tank or WHM. It makes the grind a lot more fun, you get insta ques, and hopefully they get a good DPS partner.
