You get damaged Garlean armour and helm during the Castrum Centri infiltration questline in the main story as it's used as a disguise. But it's pretty weak armour all things considered (not surprising, given the fact the player actually steals it from the bodies of dead Garlean soldiers!). The body piece at least is pretty much just a palette swap for a standard half-robe anyway so it's nothing really that special. It's also the armour worn by regular 'grunts' and not the special armour worn by centurions and legati.
I think the closest to Garlean Judge armour would probably be one of the special PvP armour sets which have a more demonic or animalistic appearance to them. For that matter, Odin's armour would be very suitable.![]()
I don't get it, shouldn't shady elements in Eorzea "retrieve" Gaius (may prove impossible due to the uncertainty of how much damage from Praetorium's explosion resisted by the said magitek armor) and Livia's body (hey she's laying there!) and scrap their magitek armor and send it to Cid to reverse engineer them?
As for live guide on how to activate or use or maintenance, Eorzea have necromancy and that "resurrection" method from the alchemist final lv 50 quest. Oh not to mention, we surely can ask Hydaelyn to "revive" em considering how many times we've fullfilled her requests
And lastly, i dun give a damn about ethics because we're in war with those scumbags!
Yeah, I agree with Draske. Garlemald in an expansion and eventually a friendly state, if they give it their own Grand Company we could get some interesting armor.
And Empressia, unless we see an actual body for Gaius...never say never. ;-P
I’ve made a petition for the gunblade and glam to be added if you’re interested![]()

Why...?
Also, we're pretty unlikely to see a Garlean gunblade glam. The game goes out of its way to specifically explain how Bozjan gunblades and Garlean gunblades are completely different weapons.
Doesn’t prevent the devs from making it available. Lightning’s gunblade is used for paladins/gladiators instead of gunbreaker and was that even explained? Same thing with the Garlean gunblade. Also, why can’t we get Garlean glam when people go to battle in casual clothes or even nothing? Not saying that they shouldn’t of course. But I’m glad they’ve given us the Imperial coats from the Tower of Babil, it shows they DO know that there are Garlean aficionados in the game. The centurion, legatus, and imperial guard gear however are far more appealing. One can only hope.
Wasn’t there a similar argument or opinion about the male viera not being playable?
Again, it all lies with the devs whether they stick or break free from the lore. And personally I see no harm in adding the aforementioned gear into the game.

Meanwhile Edda’s scythe was given to reaper and other roles which doesn’t even match them.

Lightning's gunblade is a GLA/PLD weapon because it was added to the game years before GNB was even a thing; it was originally an event reward from a crossover with XIII: Lightning Returns, which ran during A Realm Reborn, while GNB wasn't added until Shadowbringers. Besides which, Lightning's gunblade wouldn't work as a GNB weapon; it's more like the Garlean gunblades, while the GNB ones are modeled directly on Squall's from VIII (that is to say, a triggered vibroweapon).Doesn’t prevent the devs from making it available. Lightning’s gunblade is used for paladins/gladiators instead of gunbreaker and was that even explained? Same thing with the Garlean gunblade. There are various bits and pieces of Garlean armor made available from various sources; the MSQ offers a conscript's standard issue gear, as well as a more spiffy Eastern-influenced set in Stormblood. There are also the "Law's Order" sets from Bozja - Delubrum Reginae, which are modeled directly on XII's Judge Magisters but also used by some Legatuses (see the Ist's Quintus and the IIIrd's Vergilia, who both use those sets). There's also the Tower of Babil sets, as you mentioned.
... but the core issue is that a lot of high-end Garlean magitek power armor is custom made, tailored to an individual's strengths. In regards to Garlean-model gunblades specifically, people would complain if they could not use the gun function; other than that I see no reason why they couldn't add one as a GLA/PLD weapon.
