PS4 SHAREfactory vs. FFXIV Materials Usage Policy

Question for you, Community Team:

An app called SHAREfactory was included with the PS4 System Software 1.7 that was just released this morning. It seems some of the features of this software go against parts of FFXIV's materials usage policy (e.g. the ability to overwrite gameplay audio with a customized audio track). Can you please tell us if SE is planning on updating their policies to support features that Sony has now made easily available to every PS4 player?

Hm, hm. This is slightly different, though, since a person on a PC will need to actively seek out and install video capture software. SHAREfactory is standard on every PS4 console, and Sony is encouraging people to use it.

Uh...yeah, I know SE can do whatever they want.

Again, this is slightly different because it isn't a third-party thing. This is a standard feature that is on every PS4.

Several MMOs have embedded video capture software. It's usually not the best, but it's easy.

I don't think having it would hurt, but I'm also not interested in something I could do better with another application.

Everyone can use the program without overwriting the ingame music.
Like you can use a program on PC so long you don't overwrite the ingame music.

I think SE will allow the use of it. As long as people aren't using SE's name/product to make a profit. But honestly if they have/had a problem they would announce something. I like the idea of editing the footage off of the share feature. Who knows though, there could be a community event based around making a video, and they could potentially use said video as a commercial, or something.
