Well, technically speaking, the Atmas are supposed to be based on the Zodiac. turning sets of five or ten of them in for a single piece of gear makes absolutely no sense.Okay so it may sound a little crazy. But who else thinks there should be..... wait for it....
ATMA ARMOUR SETS?? It should work exactly like the Atma weapon questline where you need to farm atmas from fates and when you get like 5 or so (10 for things like chest piece and legs) you can exchange it for a single piece of 105-110 ilvl armor. This would be the coolest thing ever because I could then have endless hours of entertainment from reading all the forum post from crybabies who want to complain about RNG etc... Anyone else agree?

I wouldn't mind something like Limbus; where you take a damaged set of armor, a Job specific material, and some tokens/Gil and the NPC upgrades your equipment for you.
Also bosses would drop a variety of items that could be traded for certain gear sets.

Much more interesting than FATE(s).
So far 2.2/2.25 has been very shallow there is one new raid - which admittedly is difficult. Prohibitively difficult for most average players.
A set of new Extreme Modes which are gated by content average/below average players haven't cleared yet.
And three new dungeons - that's it. Progression wise you're gated by time investment (Atma/Animus) or group skill level (Leviathan/2nd Coil).
They need more middle ground content - Crystal Tower is excellent but it's development cycle needs to match the rest of the game so it doesn't feel like you're waiting around to bridge that content gap between the casual/time investment content and the hardcore/skill execution content.
I think something like Limbus/Assault/Salvage/Dynamis/Sky style content or Crystal Tower would've be fun to upgrade our AF/Myth and gather other New Gear to bump to iL95 and made the transition to 2nd Coil easier; would have been nice.
I hope we see Skirmish return, and other "long raid" or big group style content that isn't FATE added soon. I think future content updates just need to have more planning and maybe a longer development cycle.

The problem is not to add an option. It's to expand a mechanic.
RNG is a bad system, because it doesn't reward you according to your effort. If we don't react, they'll use this for more and more content. We'll see dungeons without loot or primal fight without primal weapons at the end, etc...
You want to make us farm Atma ? Fine, give us the Atma when we win (Gold Medals) 10 different FATEs on the proper zone. It will be fair, and actually it doesn't require anymore skill than plain farming the same FATEs over and over.
And if you want to add a little more challenge, make the medal count only for lvl40+ FATEs.

Not sure it really makes sense from a lore perspective. I wouldn't be against the concept with a different item, but using Atma's specifically seems odd.



RNG isn't going anywhere, this is a MMORPG. Atma is nothing more then mindless grind, if that is what someone wants they can do that. Lvl 40 fates aren't any more challenging then lvl 10 fates, none of them pose much of a challenge.
