What should I know, getting into PvP?

Basically the thread title covers it. Are there any good resources to look at, or general things I know should know going into PvP? The daunting part of any PvP experience to me is "I don't wanna be that noob that has no clue wtf they're doing and thus causes the team to fail".

My main class (and the one I'll probably play PvP in) is Monk, if that helps.

As a healer I get flamed a lot if I make a mistake, but like VincentNightray said, don't give a crap and play for fun!
I'm not playing pvp to become the bestest there is, I mainly want the cool gear!

Don't role a healer if you don't know how to tank as one. Seriously if you can't tank then you are going to get wasted when that stun lands on you lol.
Cuz kiting will work oh so long till latency or lb1 hits you. So it's probably best if you go as your main pve class as dps has less pressure in most cases.
