Situation #1 : DPS didn't bother to position themselves behind the boss, as a tank, you could turn the boss around.

You see the aoe fire does not insta gib them but the aoe shooting will constantly hit them, this means you did nothing on your part other than to complain on the forums about shitter dps n heals when you could have simply turn the boss around to stop them from getting killed. do your part from a wipe

Yeah, you know what I do as a DPS if i get hit by frontal AOE? Get the hell out. The tank can't move your character for you. They were basically out of my line of sight where they were standing.

Apart from that the BLM was one of the most obnoxious people I've come across in game, but everyone seems to be missing that point too.


I'll err on the side of caution next time. Clearly I gave these guys enough rope to hang themselves. Guess I've been spoilt with decent groups in the past.

a sensible direction? rly? not that i expect people to use more rational descriptions like to the wall or to away from grp, oh wait u didnt turn it away from grp, but u insisted to stay right where u are, no matter where the rest of the grp was. and that is a bad tank, yes. a good tank would ve moved the boss away. even if the dps and heal still hug u, move boss away.

Second wipe came because the big bomb got off. I'll accept partial blame for that - I had assumed the other DD would LB it, at a certain point I should have just popped it off anyways, but it killed us of course.

That wipe shouldn't have happened. Unless your tank wasn't overgeared (but I expect if for a semi SR), he could have solo'ed the after bomb phase. I do it pretty regularly (DDs getting hit by the hit-and-run while LBing, no LB, party wipe...).

Not trying to call you a bad tank, really, but how can you say you faced boss in a "sensible" direction if your party ate the flamethrower ? This kind of amazed me. All I can understand here is that you moved your boss where you wanted it, didn't bother to hug wall/move as needed and thus wiped your team. Because you know, you should be out of center for this boss... and if your team goes with you in front of the boss, just move. That is YOUR duty as a tank.


putting it simple : if your party dies from a conal AoE TWICE, you (as the tank) are in fault, no matter how idiotic these people are.
