Fabulous Tam-Tara Run Tonight

We can name people if we're giving them a compliment, right?

I'm normally a Paladin. But I've been feeling guilty because it's my only 50+ job, and when I run with the folk in my linkshell, I'm always like "I'll tank, 'cause, uh, that's all I can do." So I've been working on leveling up a Damage Dealer class.

Tonight, I had my Lancer pants on, and went into Tam-Tara. The party started with a GLD, a CNJ, a PGL, and me, your friendly neighborhood Lancer. The Gladiator started pulling without even waiting for the CNJ to cast protect. And he was running around in circles around the monsters, like an Archer.

So I said, "Hey, you know, positioning is really important to us melee damage types; we can't get our big hits off if we can't get behind the monsters."

He said, "I like to dance, lol," and then he dropped the party.

So now it was a CNJ, a PGL, and me, your friendly neighborhood Lancer. We waited for a few minutes, but no one was showing up to tank, so we decided to press on. And we were doing okay... we got past the first altar. At some point, though, the Pugilist apparently decided we were going way too slowly, and just dropped us.

...And was immediately replaced by a Dragoon, Neone Nosredna. Neone said "Hey, we got this!" and we went forward with the healer, Althazar Al'thor, and myself. Neone kept giving me tips as we went along, and helped me understand a couple of things about lancer, and I appreciated that.

And the three of us finished out the dungeon. The last fight got a little intense, but we beat it without a wipe. It was the best dungeon I've run in a long time... everyone was communicating, we were taking it slow but steady, and everyone was part of a team pulling together to get us through the fights. It was fabulous.
