How To Train Your Dragon distinctly comes to mind as a story of how that doesn't matter one bit.
I miss my little PfeilA dragoon's wyvern minion would be perfect. He could do the little flying loop if you cheer for him!
Wow, exactly the same with me. My FC leader gave me a Pudgy Puk, but it's just not the same... I named my wyvern Milo in XI, one of the few on my server with that name. For XIV I just named my Chocobo Milo and suited him up in Levi barding... close enough!
@FritoBandito: a picture worth a thousand words![]()
I agree! Wyvern pet!
As a minion, sure why not? But as a pet and nerfing/rewriting my job? No. Just no. I had a DRG in XI too and yeah I liked my pet, but I enjoy dragoon in XIV for the challenge it presents in the playstyle.
And for everyone refusing to even try the job without the pet being there? Less competition for drg drops for me wooooooooooo!! No seriously guys, give it a shot and *then* write it off if it ain't your cup of tea. But please not to be changing my primary job without even giving it a fair shake or a taste, hmm? There's some really delicious dark vibes there, being seduced by power, etc etc. Refuse to give spoilers but it's one of the better job stories, I feel. (Although it was better in 1.0.) Wouldn't be the first time a dragoon was being pulled two different directions, see also: Kain Highwind.
If I can have one as a mount and fly where I want to go I want one, and I do mean "fly" not this 3 ft off the ground on an ugly ahriman stuff, it doesn't need to do anything else.I will be first to oppose a Wyvern addition to the Dragoon class, as this is far closer to the Dragoons of FF3-9, which were dragon knights with no pet (and party trust issues). XI is the first FF to give them a pet, so XIV's pet-less version is more in-line with traditional final fantasy. A mini pet is fine, however.
I realize this is a pipedream, oh well.
A mount is fine with me.

And again... Why not just split stats when the pet is out and fight with you and add give it back to the DRG when the pet is not out? That way the DRG would loose non of his power but ppl had the option to fight with the pet If they like.As a minion, sure why not? But as a pet and nerfing/rewriting my job? No. Just no. For sure support this ideaI miss my wyvern from XI... a minion would be cool in replacement.

I love Dragons so I won't say no to any Wyvern minions and such!
I wouldn't mind seeing a job class with a dragon pet as well, but I'd more like to see something based off Reis or something from Final Fantasy Tactics.
