I've been adding full water resistance to my gears for Leviathan, but it doesn't seem to help a bit.
YET when i get a dash stack reducing my resistence, then i really really get hurt.

I've actually never noticed Spell Speed have any effect on anything ever. Does it even do anything?
After your base of 341, every ~25 spell speed reduces both casting times and GCD recast by 1%. Really good for BLM, semi-ok for WHM, meh for SCH, avoided like the plague by SMN.

I f'cking hate Skill speed right now.... It feels like everything for DRG this patch gives Skill speed.
You can't have a stat that's "high risk, low reward".... For BLM SS is good, only cause they couldn't care less about mana, and it can help them when moving around in fights. I don't exactly know how it's for all the other classes, but for DRG, it will not only drain your TP... it also is the worst gain in dps out of the stats.
To make it relevant, they have to both increase the reward, and make up for the TP. Either make a huge increase in reward, and just some TP recovery, or high TP recovery and slight increase in reward.....

Enough skill speed allows for another "ability" to be used within your rotation without hurting that rotation. Which is a plus for Dragoons.
Monks dots and GL stacks wont fall off as easily either. So it's a constant uptime unless they are made to move away.
Bards just end up going crazy.
Summoners can cast their dots and spread them quick enough.
BLM benefit so much from spell speed. Moving now isn't a major loss, you can cast thunder 3 instead of 1 or 2, and doing a triple - quad flare rotation isn't so time consuming that it becomes a loss in dps.

I like skill speed for MNK, once you get 495 you have the 2 second GCD, and at that point you can macro your rotation using the <wait.2>
Also with 2 second GCD it works out you get more attacks in before having to refresh dots, more attacks for Perfect Balance and Internal Release. Because of Bootshine 100% crit rate and Internal Release +30% every min for 15 sec (25% up time) I think if you can get 495 skill speed it works out better than Crit.
I would agree however that anything above 495 is wasted (I currently am a little over but nothing better to replace the gear with yet)
I definitely agree there's use to it in endgame.
However, early in the game, when you get stuff that grants like "Skill Speed +3"... that's something that should definitely be replaced, because you can't even start stacking close to enough for it to be meaningful.
It takes all of 5 seconds (8 if you don't SC your shadowflare) of standing still with 0 skill speed to get all your dots up, as Bio and Miasma II are instant casts. Skill speed only really helps egi or ruin I spam, as regardless of how fast you put your dots up they stay up for the same amount of time. So it fits in more ruins I guess, maybe 3-5 over the course of the entire fight. Not to say skill speed is completely useless it is just far far less optimal than either crit or det for summoner, crit can also indirectly raise your spell speed sometimes too for smn.
