skill-/spellspeed, why is it still here?

So, why are these stats in the game again?

The only think I can think of is that they tried to have a fun stat to go for other than the "normal" route for let's say a SCH (which would be crit), or tanks who'd like parry or maybe crit too (for WARS pretty nice with 2.2's stat allocation). It miserably failed..

Is it too much for SE to admit the stat is a dead stat, but it takes too much time to figure out what to do with it (remove it!?)?

Every job avoids it because for every job it means avoiding it is better than having it. This has been the case since August 27th 2013.

Does anyone have an idea why it's still in the game? Did SE mention somewhere they "were looking in to it"? Because we know how that story goes.. xD
