As usual, in FF it is difficult to increase your luck. Make it doubly so here, and make the luck gains miniscule, but just enough to make an impact. Unlike other stats, luck will affect your character in total, not just that class. Each luck point can increase rare drop rate by .005 percent or whatever, or some other formula. To acquire luck you can eat food, drink potions, wear the right gear, etc. other interesting ways to acquire luck can be through unlocking achievements

Things luck can affect:
Rare drop rate
Chance to get double Gil from any enemy
Retainer ventures bringing back HQ items/rare items
HQ gathering rate
Crafting
Transmutation

A lot of people will be screaming about how broken it is, but remember, it can be made purposely hard to increase luck, and the bonus can be tiny but still effective enough to help those that worked for it

I'm pretty sure the Determination stat is the ARR equivalent of LUCK in other Final Fantasies.
