Implement a luck stat in 2.4/2.5!

Most FFs have a luck stat, and I understand MMORPGs are meant to be consuming, but as a fun way to nerf the atma quest without actually nerfing it would be by implementing a luck stat.

As usual, in FF it is difficult to increase your luck. Make it doubly so here, and make the luck gains miniscule, but just enough to make an impact. Unlike other stats, luck will affect your character in total, not just that class. Each luck point can increase rare drop rate by .005 percent or whatever, or some other formula. To acquire luck you can eat food, drink potions, wear the right gear, etc. other interesting ways to acquire luck can be through unlocking achievements

    Things luck can affect:
    Rare drop rate
Chance to get double Gil from any enemy
Retainer ventures bringing back HQ items/rare items
    HQ gathering rate
    Crafting
    Transmutation

A lot of people will be screaming about how broken it is, but remember, it can be made purposely hard to increase luck, and the bonus can be tiny but still effective enough to help those that worked for it.

I think also luck should be gained primarily from achievements. Every achievement point we get is one luck. Each luck is .005% chance extra for that drop rate or whatever it is (changes depending on what it is, whether it be crafting, gathering, atma farming, etc). That means every time you get an achievement for 5 points, you get .025% chance. In the long run this will be very helpful. Now apply gear which can be obtained via GC: another 50-100 points. .25-.5% chance. With 300 achievement points, 100 from gear, you have 400 points. That's an entire 2% chance which is HUGE now eat food which can increase your luck by 20%. You just got an extra 80 points. Pop that potion and hope for the best and voila. Now add materia for another 30-50 points and YEAH! Add a party buff for 10% luck and farming in parties just became relevant. Give Chocobos a luck enchantment, or something like that, even better.

Perhaps we could even use GC seals to get a special luck reallocation sort of thing, where for one hour you can sacrifice your allocated points and put them into luck. Not to mention a rank 9 free company boost getting a luck increasing thing.

The following was proposed later in the thread:

Here you can spend the achievement points you've earned to gain traits. These traits are mainly there affects our luck rate in the world of Eorza.

There can also be other more unique implementation but for now this is the idea I propose that can tackle luck of low drop rate %.

This is absolutely brilliant, much better than my idea.

    Another brilliant idea:

I'm pretty sure the Determination stat is the ARR equivalent of LUCK in other Final Fantasies.

Luck was in FFX, it effected your crit rate, accuracy and evasion. Which when stat maxing made people ingore other stats like accuracy and evasion and went for luck because it was like the 3 in one stat.

It's been in most FFs lol X is one of my favorites
And no, I don't think Yoshi intends to add things worse than atma. It's an outdated mechanic to begin with, and even as somebody who doesn't have a single atma after nearly or over 500 fates, I don't mind the drop rate, which is supposedly 2.25%. That is seriously nothing to complain about. Older games are much much much worse. There will be RNG here, bottom line. It is an RPG...and an online one at that. A luck stat would make this more bearable, not encourage more of it.

How about the 4 leafed mandragora leaf from Tom-tit tat, or the lucky rarab foot. /sarcasm

How about no !, just give us less RNG and all will be good or add a system were the more you farm something the higher your chance of obtaining the item. (increase of 1% every time or something)

Determination as far as I'm concerned is not luck at all...it is in the formula that determines our damage done and our healing done. The more the better, but it doesn't work like luck.

Not with achievements. Achievements have nothing to do with luck.
A better idea would be +1 luck everytime you roll 99 at a endboss loot.

I like your idea but my original idea was to give those unlucky people something to work towards without needing luck. Achievements don't necessarily require luck but at the time being they are almost pointless. It would be great if they were tied to a luck stat.
