Honestly SE, I'm not asking for much!
just an MMO that gives me 500+ hours of game time and doesn't repeat content.
It can be grindy, just plz god no repeatable quests, fates, or farm mobs. Keep it engaging!
-Thank you!

Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
The problem is that this game was built upon a theme park model.
You go to an area once, do the "rides" there and then you never have to come back because that area's purpose is done. Any real content is instanced, the open world doesn't really have a place beyond serving as a vehicle for moving the main story as well as serving as the playground for gatherers.
It would take a serious shift in focus for SE to appease any of the complaints that are normally brought up, because the game wasn't designed to accommodate people with issues like that.
I've been playing rift again lately and the rift events and instant adventures really do put FFXIVs FATE system to shame, SE need to incorporate something similar IMO, it would make the open world more populated and encourage more socialisation and party play.

Funny Yoshi-p has quoted on several occasions that FFXIV is a theme park MMO.

Because Campaign was never done properly in XI, and both SE and the players were to blame, with the stellar character of most gamers these days it would most likely be worse here.
SE was to blame because their was no real reward for holding areas that made the playerbase wish to see it done, gear rewards were mediocre in general.
The players would have failed the Campaign war philosophy anyway, getting that many people into a mindset of strategy and cooperation in order to make large and lasting captures is simply asking too much of teen squeekers, and "gimme right now" players who seem to make up the large % of gamers these days.
