DRG and critical hitrate question.

Hiya fellow FFXIV ARR players.

I'm about to max out on critical for average lvl 90 items as DRG with crafted ilvl 90 gear but my question is now i see this weathered gear and i has so little critical on it compared to my almost maxed at 525 so is it really worth to get even if your main is DRG?

I just need the vortex ring of slaying to max out I think at 541 for average 90.

What do you guys think?

If you arent raiding then 9/10 times i100 gear is going to be better than i90 gear. Yes there isnt much crit but secondary stats arent as important as strength and weapon dmg. Now if we're talking about which soldiery pieces are actually worth it for drg then only the boots, the legs and the gloves are worth buying stat wise for left side and even then, the i110 gloves drop from t6 and basically all the jewelry is worth for the most part.

For i90, Det > Crit. There's a reason the T5 BiS lists all focus on DET over Crit. And if you didn't meld the crafted i90 to max out Crit and DET (and Acc or SS, or both for some pieces)...you melded wrong.

For the i110, its harder to say, as there is a lot less DET on gear, but a lot more SS. Crit is better than it was pre-2.2, but DET is still preferred over it, when you can get it.


Looking over your gear...you could have melded a lot better. Much more expensive, yes, but you can get almost 585 Crit with full i90 if you max out all crafted gear (not even counting Animus)

No I did meld all the critical I had a option to, secondary I melded DET and ACC.

No wonder you're too far from the max Crit. You didn't do any overmelds.
