At one point there were speculations about Dalamud and its relation to Bahamut, but the confirmation we got within the final Phases and in the Video. There is still speculation about what did happen do Louisoix. With 2.2's Content there were Informations about it, but not going to spoiler it at this point.

One thing I find really sad is that new players don't know Louisoix. They watch the trailer and the old man give that heartbreaking smile and they're like "who's this douchebag", when for those who played he was the guy that told us "good job, mate" for killing them primals over and over again etc. We knew him.

Also Dalamud that approaced the planet little by little was an amazing touch. It really gave the impression of continuity. 10/10 would play again.

Agreed. Having never played until the release of 2.0, I had no clue who anyone was or their importance. Despite that, it doesn't take much to see the opening video and go, "Hmm, this guy is/was obviously a very important person. He's probably either the leader or founder of this group of heroes and is saving them, himself be damned." To me, there was also very much an Obi-Wan vibe given off.

I had no clue who he was and I teared up. He clearly sacrificed himself in the video so its not difficult to figure out he is a good guy. It made me really want to know who he is.
