1.0 Ending, Did you know?

I sadly never had a chance to play 1.23, but man that ending, so many feels! So Epic!
But did anyone actually know bahamut was inside beforehand? Or was everyone just guessing how the world would end before the servers went offline. If so, how was your reaction seeing bahamut unleashed? I would assume that would be one of the greatest endings of all time.

For those who played 1.0 from start to end it was an epic end. SE put so much feel and flair into it, that i still get goosebumps watching the ending vid. There were tons of Threads about it and how many people actually started crying. I find that was one of the most intense and interesting moments i had as a MMO Player.

At one point there were speculations about Dalamud and its relation to Bahamut, but the confirmation we got within the final Phases and in the Video. There is still speculation about what did happen do Louisoix. With 2.2's Content there were Informations about it, but not going to spoiler it at this point.



When i saw Bahamut "unleashed" i kind of knew it, but still was "WHAT THE... FAAWK".

Well, there was a few very subtle hints Bahamut was within Dalamud (such as during the battle against Nael van Darnus he used Megaflare and kept alluding to 'him', and Jenlyns the PLD Job quest NPC exclaimed "Bahamut's fang!" during the first PLD Job quest), but the general belief is that the 'Meteor' aspect was to be taken literally and that it would impact into Eorzea accordingly - 'End of an Era' showed otherwise.

I didn't play 1.0 so didn't even fully understand everything or know everyone, but when the "prayer" part started I could feel a lump in my throat. Now THIS part had tears rolling

The red dalamud started as a small star in the sky that approached the planet after every update. When it was a small red star in the sky no one even worried it would grow to such a thing lol

Near the end of 1.0 when it was close to hitting, it was clear it was not a normal meteor but some kind of a machine or special technology by the looks of it and I think many speculated that something was inside

Honestly, i didn't expect it, even when Nael himself gave us a hint casting "Megaflare". There were many theories, but i always though it was just an artificial moon (like a Death Star lol). Then, End of Era trailer happened, Dalamud opened and we saw two giants wings... at that point i was like "OH SH*T!!! Bahamut!"

Great end (terrible event, tho... that lag...). Beautiful theme ("Answers" *-*). It almost made me cry when she starts to sing the last 5 verses (well, 3 in the trailer) while Bahamut is about to destroy everything an Louisoix disappears in the "light" while smiling

I didn't read into any hints, just assumed it was a regular moon/meteor, had no clue it was an allagan prison for bahamut. Would be cool to have more action cinematics/fmv like that in the future for key events. Maybe the expansions.

I'm not a lore-monger so I just assumed the meteor was gonna crash down. But when Bahamut came out in the trailer, it was one of the most epic "Oh, holy sh*t!" moments I've had in gaming! I just wish the servers had been better at the time since the ending event was plagued with disconnects and insane lag. The trailer made up for it though, 100%.

One thing I find really sad is that new players don't know Louisoix. They watch the trailer and the old man give that heartbreaking smile and they're like "who's this douchebag", when for those who played he was the guy that told us "good job, mate" for killing them primals over and over again etc. We knew him.

Also Dalamud that approaced the planet little by little was an amazing touch. It really gave the impression of continuity. 10/10 would play again.
