Just wondering how Bards do DPS wise at 50 compared to other classes. I understand they aren't that high on the list when compared to other DPS classes, but how far behind are they?

Their mobility and ability to silence makes them highly desired at endgame. Other classes CAN push out harder raw DPS, but no matter your class there's a lot more to being a DPS than that.
I can keep up pretty steady damage because unlike other classes, like mages, bards can run while attacking and dodging. We also get a ton of buffs that increase damage or crit in some way for cross class skills. Jobs like monk and blm are usually going to out dps you if they are playing their jobs correctly. More importantly, bards are there for mp/tp recovery and silence. DPS is kind of second, but still important. Your dps takes a hit when you have to play recovery songs like mage's ballad, but it isnt severe.
Usually 2-3 on the DPS list depending on the fight and party setup. Sometimes #1 if really good and others aren't as well geared. Basically they hold up just fine in all fights.
I will agree, movement and adding dots plus support my regenerating mana for healers makes Bard a class very much always in need for end game.
We actually defeated Garuda EX yesterday with 3 Bards![]()
Depending on the fight, usually bottom of the totem pole if other jobs perform well. If the other jobs don't know the encounter, Bards output have the most tolerance and is the most stable which is why when the encounter is new, people tend to look for bard but when it's old news, 1 bard for song is enough, sometimes even no bard.
