Well, I do tell my PLD to avoid scorning during fatty spawn times.
To be correct, they spawn exactly 48s apart irregardless of phase changes or how fast you push the phase, we have a timer set up for it.
op don't feel bad I've done this several times with circle of scorn while tanking. with practice you just kind of know good times to use aoes. if I'm ever in doubt, i say screw the extra dps and just avoid using the ability. turn 7 isn't such a dps race that you need to go above and beyond, you just gotta execute and overcome the mechanics.
I would kick somebody who kept wiping the encounter, too. Seriously, they're not "EVIL DOOOOOOERS!!!" for removing a weak link from the party that neither knew the fight nor their job.
That's because raiding is serious. People don't do it because it's fun to wipe repeatedly to the same mistake over and over. They do it to kill the boss and get loot.

if you had read, OP said he had done Miasma II once, maybe twice, and it happened, while the whm, who had cause more problems/wipes, was let off without anything being done. what did OP get? kicked. people who have your mind set really make part of the community seem toxic with "new" people hate.
I circle of scorned the fatty as he spawned once during progression, that was fun. Since then I've trained myself to only use CoS after the spawn. Lose a bit of dps but in this fight playing it safe is more important than small gains in dps. Might get flamed for that but one of our major issues during progression on T7 was always people being distracted trying to squeeze out that little bit of extra dps/healing over safely handling mechanics.
That goes back to a mindset I picked up from previous games doing raid content:
1. Learn the mechanics
2. Hit the enrage
3. Then, maximize dps and beat the fight
It's Balmung, my dear. Hope you find a better place to crash! :3So yeah. Melusine nearly dead, and a Renaud spawned on top of Melusine. I used Miasma 2 on her exactly at the same time as the spawn, and it whacked me... then another person. We wiped after that and I immediately got the penalty of being kicked out of a static. Not a single word, just banned out of voice chat and kicked out of the linkshell.
If you're in Turn 7 Summoners, don't use Miasma 2 at all. Renauds can be a pesky thing to deal with.
I'd say its probably for the best. Any uptight static like that that doesn't allow people to make mistakes will generally be a bad time had by all. Chances are they'll fall apart before they see T9 anyway.

That bad aoe saved you a lot of headaches in the future.
LOL! Thank God that happened to you. Hopefully it opened your eyes to the kind of people you were spending your time with. If anything, us Summoner's should use Miasma II in there if it's going to bring out the true nature of the people around us. You did your job, there's nothing to be sad about, you just got the bad luck of an add spawning at the wrong time.So yeah. Melusine nearly dead, and a Renaud spawned on top of Melusine. Gj on dodging toxic group quickly.
Btw using miasma 2 on single target is worth using ONLY when paired with contagion. Without contagion its 10 less potency than a ruin.
