Considering quitting (Hear me out).

So... Ive been playing XIV since about December and I loved it. The story was great. Everything about everything was great.

I left for a month, came back and cleared Crystal Tower and farmed all of my loot there. I updated my Coil progression continuing to farm turns 1-4 for weeks getting all of my loot.

Now...

Ive been stuck on T5, Garuda EX for about 2 weeks and have barely logged in since I renewed my subscription because:

There seems to be no FC's on my server running static groups.
There are rarely parties for T5 (If there are, they are either full on my job or have my job completely restricted).
There seem to be no outside FC static parties to join.

People have told me "Why dont you level a craft or another job". Well... I don't want to play for the sake of playing, I want to play... to advance my job. Thats what I want to do, and I can't.

I collected 5 Atmas in about 4 days when that patch first hit... since then I've spent about 18 hours grinding out the Atma of the Maiden, and it has yet to drop.

I could grind out soldiery (which I do), but thats not progression, thats just to help you in Coil 2... that I can't even access because I can't get a group/clear T5.

Should I get a server change? I have a few friends who are quitting because of the same problem.

Its like organized guilds/FCs are almost non existent, the game is full of casuals and the few elitests/dedicated players there are are tight knit and fare and few between.

Really starting to feel like the casual gameplay and vertical progression is going to kill the game. It basically has for me already. if I can't clear this raid by the end of my sub I probably won't renew.

Why are you being all victim about this. form your own parties.

Do other stuff to make friends, and build on that friendship to form statics.

"Can't" understand why you feel so hopeless. Everyone is inexperienced at one point, if you see enough garuda videos that you feel confident you can jump into a win party, then do that.

Yeesh. Quit expecting others to stretch their necks out for you, if you have no intention of a little self improvement (not counting gear).

As for horizontal progression, considered crossclass abilities? how is your progress there?

I'm somewhat exactly in the same boat you are. Left for a bit and came back. I started progressing to get out of DL gear. And now I can't seem to find a group to beat Turn 5 and Titan Ex. All the party finder crap is asking for experienced people and they do completion checks or whatever. Learning parties have been awful. I know the fight, just I can't do it alone. I've got about a month and a half on sub and I thinking about just quitting or moving servers.

Probably a low pop server which is causing your problems.

Make a T5 learning party, for example. I see those everyday. If you join a FC and they don't help you out, move to another FC. There's always people like you struggling about the same. If you want to keep progressing, you have to make some changes. Take the first step if no one is doing it.

You see, on Behemoth there are 2 kinds of party: either a learning party or a "3 strike rule and you are out". For someone who never did T5 lets say and only watched a video, he still would have some trouble and a "3 strike rule" party would kick him b4 he can learn, and a learning party almost like NEVER get past divebomb, so its hard to practice a fight when you can't experience the fight till the end (or at least reallyyyyy close to the end). But then again you are right, he/she should look for a cool FC that will help him grow. Coming here and complaining wont get him/her anywhere.

Actually Behemoth is almost always closed to create new characters, so low population isnt a problem.

Been there, done that. In a FC either not enough people are available or your FC mates have no idea what they are doing. The better FC only seem to accept those who have completed all EX primals and Turn 5 and they don't raid during the only times I have available. Which is early morning EST.

But the thing is there are LOTS of FC out there.... you probably didn't try many FC that you didn't find one cool that would help, xD Or you can try to make a static learning group. The other day I created a PF and a party that had some members MIA asked if I wanted to join them as healer on probation. But these past few days im kinda letting go of the game tho, =\
