    Increase PvP Marks/Exp

    Okay, lets face it it... "FFXIV is extremely casual." (Yoshida -iirc)

    So why is the PvP system the worst grind in the whole game? To reward the valiant players who can spend hours grinding to get higher ranks? Even they know it is a horrible grind, and you pretty much have to spend hundreds of hours to get ranks. This is beyond poor PvP design and does not make it fun. Please note I am not saying there should be free hand outs, because of the QQ. The system needs various overhauls and people are welcome to add to the list below.

    Here are 3 major changes that would help with the grind known as PvP.

    1. There is no reason why purchased gear should have a rank requirement to wear it. If you have the marks to buy a piece of gear you should be able to wear it.

    2. Increase Wolf Marks / EXP across all forms of PvP. The amount you get now is piss poor. Seeing the time sink alone deters people from continuing to PvP
    2a. Increase EXP across all forms of PvP, but keep the wolf mark penalty intact. (alternative to 2)

    3. Stop the 1 minute wait before each battle. Seriously we all know to kill the healer, or the squishy. 20-30 seconds is enough.

    Next are just 3 completely random ideas.

    1. Give us a grand company leve that has us do X amount of matches for the day. (since GC are associated with PvP that grants us a bonus amount of exp/marks)

    2. Limit the amount you can sprint in PvP. I know healers/mages need it to survive (supposedly) but that's just bad game design.

    3. Add a daily PvP roulette that gives us a large amount of marks/exp.

    Below is a link to a spreadsheet (not mine) that shows how bad the grind is .. from 30-40 alone.
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...jYmhEOGc#gid=0

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    So far people seem to be more for:
    1. Increase Wolf Marks / EXP across all forms of PvP. The amount you get now is piss poor. Seeing the time sink alone deters people from continuing to PvP
    1a. Increase EXP across all forms of PvP, but keep the wolf mark penalty intact. (alternative to above)
    2. Add a daily PvP roulette that gives us a large amount of marks/exp.
    3. Give us a grand company leve that has us do X amount of matches for the day. (since GC are associated with PvP that grants us a bonus amount of exp/marks)
    (Hopefully devs look into this more.)
    If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.
    Only part I don't like. On SCH, I seriously need this time to pre-buff everyone. Stoneskin on everyone, including pets. Protect. Adlo on everyone. Then Whispering Dawn and Fey Covenant as we're leaving the gates.
    That's understandable. It can just be annoying with the small reward at the end.
    It really does come down to bang for our buck. The rewards seem so bad in comparison to the overall wait and time playing. Now if there were different ways to gain PVP marks in other areas of the game like quest for PVE, it might spark interest in those who might have never thought about it. Grinding all day in PVP just seems like a waste when we should get Marks and PVE EXP at the same time. Basically when your done with PVE you could go, "Hey, I have all these marks. Let me see what I can buy in PVP." That might help get people interested. But those prices are eye sores right now.
    I really don't think the prices are all that bad. The real problem here is that they're also gated behind rank 40. You can't get into PvP without starting from the absolute bottom. :/ It'd be a lot more appealing if you could wear that i100 gear as long as you have the marks for it.
    This, basically. I feel like maybe a small increase in marks would be nice, but the real issues lies within the ranking system. Ultimately, PvP should be about skill, not gear. PvP gear is great to have, but it shouldn't be so heavily gated to access. Yes, there needs to be some sort of challenge in obtaining it, but the current grind is absolutely prohibitive in allowing people to get into competitive gear. The way they have it structured supports the hardcore (in this case, people with lots of time), and puts the casual (and by casual, I mean players with less time, not less skill) players at a massive disadvantage. You could be an MLG FFXIV PvP players (as far as that goes with the current system lol) but not have a lot of time to play, and because of that some guy with half your skill could faceroll you with his full i100 max melded set just because he had the time to grind mindlessly for the ranks.
    I can understand ranks being tied to skills, but not gear.
    Cut the grind, make the PvP more about skill. As it stands, some one calculated you'd have to put in about 211 hours of straight wins at six minute queues. (From queue, to start, to finish) in order to hit rank 40. Even if you PvP'd five hours every single day day, wining every match in six minutes or less, it'd still take you a month and a half. That is absolutely stupid, given the queue times are horribly long the higher you get in rank. Some people are apparently lucky to get 20 minute queues, even after the patch and renewed interest in grinding the wolve's den.
    I feel like either SE just has no idea what they're doing with the PvP, or they're intentionally gating the rank 40 gear so a lot of players don't have it when they release the frontlines.
    Edit: A brief glance over the JP PvP forums showed that they seem to feel more or less the same way. Leveling is way, way too harsh right now.
    Hopefully they will listen and make adjustments if both NA/JP complain enough.
    It is downright pitiful that you would complain about the amount of time and dedication needed to hit max rank in this game. It is true testament to how lazy MMO gamers have become. When I grinded rank 14 in vanilla WoW, I put in 10 times the hours that it takes to hit rank 40 on this game.
    What's pitiful is that you expect a long grind for a MMO that is catered towards casuals. PvP = fun killing time, not grind because i have no jerb.
    And I feel for ya. I do. People put a lot of time into their rank 30s. The state of PvP isn't the same these days, though. It takes much longer now to rank up than it did when it was fresh. You aren't going to have anyone left to play with if PvP keeps running this course.
    Also, while we're talking WoW. You could buy (and wear!) functional PvP gear out of the gate. Only the most elite equipment was gated behind a rank of any kind. Ain't quite the same here.
