HP/damage/accuracy don't make something hard. They make it tedious.
Difficulty comes from mechanics.

Never mentioned anything about Afghanistan. I was mainly referring to the country with the most powerful army in the world vs. people with rocks, because we are about to take on the mighty Garlean Empire very soon and if it's gonna be pick your difficulty, that feared empire are just people with rocks that we can steamroll thru.So many Afghanistan jokes came to mind... but politics will make for a rapid locking of a thread, so I shall let it past. I do know that if there is a difficulty option my motley crew and I will be starting with the hardest and working our way down. The way I figure it, if we are willing to believe we can take R90 mobs, how hard can a quest be, right? Here's hoping. And here's hoping the rewards are appropriately tiered as well!
Google "Hard Mechinaics"
See what you get.
Pretty sure anything hard is automatically tedious. However, not everything tedious is hard. I wouldn't call fighting a super saiyin, "tedious". I wouldn't call going up against Manny Pacqiuao or George St. Pierre "Tedious".
Right now hard mode, is basically soloing mode. I don't really have time to party much, so I solo most of the time. But I solo the sp cap, which is mobs 10 lvls above me. Pretty challenging, at least more so than spamming 1-2-3 in a party. You also get more sp/mob if you're grinding solo than in a party.
I think raising the sp cap will encourage hard mode. They've already taken care of the major obstacle in this, which is Guldleves. If you consider what sp would be like with the cap at 20 lvls, and add that to an optimal leve-link party, People would be getting some seriously stupid sp (probably also would hit fatigue in 30 min). Now that guildleves are being modified, I can see them raising the sp cap tho. Because it's really stupid that any class can solo the cap.
If anyone remembers the "bragging" thread of that LS "that which shall not be named" (lol) saying they were the first to get a Headrip Ogre kill in the world and "dont bother saying anything cus you are jelly".... well i didnt get involved in the argument, but for those that did, i stumbled upon this youtube vid today
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP1f1...eature=related
A headrip ogre kill from open beta.
Those that read the "bragging" thread may find it interesting.
Sorry if it was brought up already.
