What is the end game progression for Tanks supposed to be?

I ask my fellow free company members too many questions... so I figured I'd ask you folks. I finally have my ATMA sword and shield, what's next? My gear is at item level 85 now. Is it just soldier tome grinding now? What is the threshold for attempting to main tank Garuda EX, Ultima HM, and Coils of Bahamut?

Is there any reason to do Crystal Tower, given that I either have all the pieces, or have better pieces than what can be won in that dungeon?

Are there any dungeons besides Coils of Bahamut that are worth doing, other than for Tomes?

No reason to bother with CT gear at this point; can farm Myth in about the same amount of time for any (better) piece you might want, and Echo makes virtually all of Coil a sleepwalk.

His ilvl for his main class is only 85, means he still has several pieces he can buy for it using myth tomes; Coil is likely going to limit him to gear for his primary class as well. CT on the other hand is essentially free loot.

Let's be completely honest....CT is a complete waste of time at this point. If your still running CT for anything besides glamour your wasting your time.

Or he can spam brayflox. I'm guessing (without checking) that he is only 4-5 pieces shy of full i90 with myth. Depending on which pieces he's missing that can't be more than 3000 myth tokens or so. It won't take long to completely gear out warrior while spamming those dungeons. Especially when you consider even a party full of brain dead players should be able to get a full clear in 20 min. Which equates to about 150 myth and 75 soldiery every hour. If he's a competent tank he can put together speed run groups or just clear the first two bosses and increase that to at least 300 myth per/hr maybe more if he's in a good party.

As for my recommendations. Clear the ex primals as soon as possible and hope you get lucky on accessories but I wouldn't farm them (with the exception of levi ex and moogle mog ex). And spam brayflox for tombs until your full i90. After that find a good FC and build a static party. Work on getting through t5 of coil 1 and start working on coil 2.

Actually it's 135 sold per hour with 20 min runs, 45 is base drop,25 is from roulette once per day

I have the i90 body, gloves and ring the i100 pants, sword and shield. I think everything else is i70. Is it better to buy up i100 or i90 pieces at this point? Either one requires grinding tomes afterall.

Passed Coil part 1 for the first time last night...so I'm going to see how far I can go into coil. I'd like to get at least to average item lvl 90 before attempting EX Garuda again (so far two tries after watching video).

So far I've beaten Coil turns 1 and 2. I have the Noct legs, and should have the Noct body by the time the weekend arrives. I'm only halfway to my first Zodiac Braves book though ha ha.

i85 is plenty for Garuda/Titan/Ifrit EX.

It will take you a little while to get the hang of the fights so start sooner rather than later.

Basically:
- Farm Coil 1/2/4/5 for i90
- Spend your soldiery on upgrades
- Save your myth for the books
- Once you've cleared EX primals farm a Wave Axe, it will suffice until you finish your Animus.

CT might be worthwhile to upgrade some of those i70 items in the short term.

Can't say that I'd recommend spamming Brayflox really, but that's just my opinion. Depends on your tolerance for running the same content repeatedly until your nose bleeds.
