The Problem with Extreme Primals...

As of patch 2.25 Extreme Primals on my server through the Party Finder are basically dead. Pre2.2, we had a ton of groups attempting these on an hourly basis and now they are few and far between. Hell, successful groups are even rarer these days.

I point to the fact that the rewards are no longer relevant. Even with the new "Primal Ponies" these trials are no longer interesting to the vast majority of players who have defeated them in the past. I have a proposed solution for this...

Give us the ability to turn in Rowen's Tokens for 25 Soldiery each. A weekly quest that gives 75 Soldiery would encourage players who are capable of completing these fights the incentive to go back and do them again. Those of us that wish to try and get a shot at those nice new mounts need people to want to do these fights.

Agree with this. Would be another way to farm Myth quickly if you get a pt together than can farm all 3.

Not surprisingly seeing that the drop rate for the ponies sucks and there are no other reasons to even run the old primal ex anymore. Changing token for myth sounds good but the amount must be good enough that players will do it, considering that DF primal ex can still pretty much fail and you can get 300 myth by doing 6 Brayflox Longstop SR.

The existing encounters were developed for people who are in statics, have great communications, properly geared, trained, have a great system and internet connection. In their current form, you could offer me 2,000 myth per run and I still wouldn't go near any of the EXs as every DF and many PF runs end in utter failure at the halfway point. The attempt at making things better with the echo has actually made things worse as once you get to 25% echo, timing and coordination gets really messy. I would modify the echo to add 0.5 seconds to get out of any AOE per stack, rather than the status boost. We don't need stats boost, we need latency / slow reflex compensation.

Not sure what's up on your server but Midgard still has tons of PF entries for EX Primals for weekly clears. Still plenty of people who need them for access to Levi and Moggle and the accessories are still great for alts since currently the only accessories over i90 are soldiery purchased, dropped in Coil 2, or dropped from Moggle EX.

they're not in pf as much but if you make a party it wont take as long for people to jump in..

I would say let people buy Ponies with like 10 tokens to get more people to do them each week.

I agree. Definitely need to change the rewards.

New players and player who have not clear primal extreme would have very low chance of clearing titan extreme.

DF is full of players who have high pings or clueless players which totally have no hope of clearing.
PF groups for old Primals EX are also getting lesser by the day. PF groups also have high change of failure, with people leaving only after 3-4 wipes.

The echo bufff is not helping for Titan EX either, because most of the fight is not a dps race except heart and more about having low latency so that you can move out of stuff in time.


Also with the ATMA farming time wasting situation, player who are interested in doing Primal Ex are even lesser.

I would think the recent changes are not very welcoming of new players or players who are 'lagging' behind in game progression.

Actually, the Ex primals represent the larger problem in SE's endgame design. Having old content gate new content effectively prevents new players from catching up. If you didn't down titan ex pre 2.2, good luck ever seeing Levi ex. Hopefully SE changes this system, otherwise imagine needing to clear coils 1&2 to see coil 3. Or downing 4-5 ex primals to reach the current one.
