oh this thread again lol

Not everyone live the markets, or crafting. I believe the minority does. I sell on minimum price, not because I'm stupid and likes to earn less gil, but because I don't care to make more. I'm sorry but I rather spend my time playing a game than spend my time in game AFK clicking the price history button every minute to earn even the slightest more gil I can lol (And in fact by actually playing the game by that time I make more gil than I would sitting and adjusting my prices endlessly since I spend that time getting gil from various other fun activities).

And even if I lose gil... It's not like it's real life money where if I don't have money I'll starve to death lol, If I see I need gil or I can't play, I will find a way to make it, but until then I'm sorry but I'm going to clean my inventory lol

Oh, well, trying to make the best of Gil just makes people like me, to levelup my own jobs and craft myself the things I need. problem solved.

I enjoy crafting and like to make money out of it, especially to make up what I lost while leveling (and to get that spring skirt lol), which is why I feel undercutting is evil
I counter it by buying the cheap stuff and selling it at a higher value when I could, or just leave my stuff as they are. I'm never in a hurry, eventually they sell.

- People undercuts. One hour later, it sells at 200k

I ended selling it for 450k, not bad for a "free" item but... well... you know what i mean...

Then u won't make too much of a difference. I mean u won't craft hundreds of items per day and sell them at cost for fun. So ur supply wont change the market too much at the end of the day. Well, you may ruin some crafters' 3-star market on a small popluation server but only for a while.

Personally I like the randomness of the retainer system a bit but I think SE went a bit too far to make it appealing...

You do know that if you head to the city that it was posted in,IE gridania, LL or Uldah that you don't have to pay a tax... right? It shows you the nation it was posted in so you can head there and avoid paying a tax. The "tax" is for importing/exporting to another city from the one it was posted in.

the import/export tax is for the buyer.
The seller have always a tax.

Prices seem to change drastically depending on the time of week, least on my server.
Mondays are generally when things are selling for high prices, they drop by about mid week, pick up usually a little on Friday then during the weekend they drop faster than ever as everyones on at the weekend collecting, crafting and under cutting like crazy!
