Does the HQ rate of fishing capped at 15% too like MIN/BON?
And what is the perception soft cap for fishing Silver Sovereign at this HQ rate?

Anyone knows?

Over the 35ish hours I fished for that rod/hat I kept track of both my numbers as well as two friends. I was at Gathering 320something and perception 260something. The other two had numbers higher or lower than mine.

All three of us saw an HQ rate of around 20%. I would catch an average 0.8 sovereigns per hour.

by the time i got my 20 fish, i was at over 100 nq's. i stopped recording my numbers after that post, but you can see the average i was having

HQ rate is around 15%, but it seems to be double at the fishing holes with a star on them on your fishing log. From what I've noticed, you need to fish at a star hole for it to move to a different spot.

Does Gathering really matter? Or is it only tanking care the fish do not get away as often? I am now on 316 Gathering and 275 perception with Buffood. But still, my results are pretty much the same as when I started hunting for Silver sovereigns in 2.2 where I had a lot less in both values.

During one night (6 PM to 6 AM) I catch 2-3 Silver sovereigns and when I am lucky, one of them comes in HQ. The rate I am getting these fish at is depressing. I have the Level 70 Miner and Botanist Axe twice, the hat even thrice. All from the unspoiled nodes for miner and botanist. It takes a long time too but your progression is visible.

But these fishes...ridiculous. I have 9/20 and will not even try to get another rod for my retainer. I rather bomb him with Materia to get to the 383 Gathering points you need for the highest Level 50 exploration......
