    People are so used to digesting content from MMOs like WoW and FFXI they've lost all vision. That's the impression i get. Every single suggestion is something another MMO had or did. It's like, if you want housing, that's great, but we don't need a mog house. It can be much more flexible and amazing. The moghouse system was so limited and claustrophobic. If you have to use a suggestion for housing, then I'd rather people use Mortal Online as a reference point, since it was obviously the superior game in that one regard.

    Just because FFXI was a good game, and just because FFXIV is its spiritual predecessor, doesn't mean that in 2011 everything from FFXI is still worthwhile. FFXI suffered so many technical limitations, which is in part why many of its features needed to be designed the way they were. You just couldn't build your own house in a 3D MMO from ten years ago because it would have been technologically infeasible. But now we have that ability, and I would hate to see the potential squandered because people only call for what they know: mog houses etc.

    This is just an isolated incident, there are so many other examples, apart from housing, where people request specific things from FFXI rather than simply call for their fundamental equivalent. If you want large scale warfare and instances, that's fine, but don't ask for assault or dynamis. People need to be waaay less specific.

    No, we need Mog Housing, Auction House, Airship, Chocobo, and more epic boat travel. It the fundamental of what make Final Fantasy epic and what it is. Why call it Final Fantasy if it doesn't have any of this? FFXI is a good game, it have many year to does thing right. There is nothing wrong with borrowing what have already work. FFXIV when launch try to be as much different as XI as possible. Lev Quest for example. Look how it turn out right now. It got so bad that the ship almost sink and bring in FFXI Director and Lead Designer from FFXI to rescue the ship. SOS!

    All of which you stated is debatable and far from the point(or are being debated). I for one like the aggro indicator and exclamation points. For the lack of mob behavior im glad i don't have a sheep on my ass anymore while im trying to complete my leve but fail because i can't AoE attack the mobs because it keeps following me.

    FFXI had a lot of good key points that work great for ffxi and should have in FFXIV from the start. The problem with ffxiv is my city means noting to me at rank 30 i never see my homeland again it noting for me my race means noting to me also. Unlike FFXI where each city hold it own race and it own rules and it own key storyline i feel that ffxiv should just have done the same.

    FFXIV may not be FFXI but us FFXI players know that FFXIV could have done better if they copy more from FFXI. I know a lot of FFXI players who would have not mind a full clone of ffxi. The matter is FFXI worked and many stuff could have easy been use for ffxiv.

    Reason why ffxiv fail at release because it's like they learn noting from ffxi.

    I don't think it's because they learned nothing from 11. more so that they wanted to break from that cast. they knew that as far as it went ALOT of 11 players would be coming to 14 first. And they wanted to break the "this is what 11 would have been if ps2 wasn't involved" mold, if you will. and so in 14 while yes you had basically the same characters and in some ways you can liken each starter city to that of windy, sando and astock you have different classes, a different way to customize your characters fighting skills, better crafting /o/, leve quests instead of side quests (and now with sidequest, yet another way to battle the current suckass sp gain from regular mobs >.>) and so many more plus's that separate 14 from 11. what is sad is the almost brainwashed 11 players, to some extent, pushing the game back into 11's mold! THIS ISN'T 11! this game has so much more potential just waiting to be plucked and here we are, the players, almost single handedly smushing the game into the grave D: Give the initial goal of 14 a chance and biuld on it instead of become retroactive and before long having something akin to the fail of ABYSSEA washed in our lap.

    If this game was exactly like FFXI, I would never have played it. XI had good content and all, but its combat was slow, None of it was soloable, leaving you sitting around hoping someone will group you, crafting SUCKED, and it was extremely hard for anyone that didnt bot to get gil. I dont see why so many want a FFXI clone. There were some good aspects in the game, but not everything should be exactly the same. FFXIV is not an expansion of FFXI, so please, If you liked FFXI so much, get over it and go play FFXI.

    FFXIV has a lot more potential than FFXI had, that's so true. While FFXI had many good features, it also lacked so much. The options in FFXIV to customise your class, the faster combat, all of it can be improved upon. It's not FFXIV's fault it was rushed to release and I'd rather have the original vision fulfilled before I saw it shifted to becoming FFXI.

    No one wants it to be FFXI, but it should be expected that good features should of been carried over to FFXIV. Its fine that they wanted to FFXIV to be different, but different does not always mean good. Basic features are missing/broken in this game, and theres no excuse for it.

    Oh I am all for some of the features from FFXI apearing in this game, but only a few. Chocobos, Air Ships, Ferry rides that get attacked by pirates, I like those. There were however some crappy aspects to FFXI that should stay put, like combat, -Auto Attack-rarg, monster strength (Everything took a group), Gil income, etc. I assure you there are many people that want it to be exactly like FFXI with better graphics. I say nay to that.
