Nice! I laughed when I read this. FFXI was great. It's just outdated. I don't see why it would be so bad to just use the same job system/battle system, etc. but still use a different world. I see a lot of people saying "just play FFXI if you want a game like FFXI". But frankly, FFXI is old news. You could say the same thing about the Mortal Kombat reboot, or the Twisted Metal reboot, or all the other remakes they're making. Sure, we could just play the old games and not have remakes, since they're basically the same games. But we have better graphics capabilities and technology now. Let's use it and make a great game prettier.

What do you guys think about the Resident Evil remake for GameCube? (just using as an example because my friend is so into those games lol) Would you tell all your friends to just play the original PS1 version, because Capcom wasted their money making the same game over again? Would you say to just play the original Starcraft online, because Starcraft II is just the same game (given it has a few new features)? What's wrong with making the same game with a few new features?

None of this is targeted at the person I quoted, it's just kind of a rhetorical set of questions for everyone lol
