Example:

One thing that I would love to see the same as FFXI is the party search function, that had no flaws to me and was the best search function i seen out of any MMO I have played.

Now Mog houses, I do believe we need a housing of some sort, but we do not need strickly mog houses. This is what I been seeing, we need something like it, but NOT exactly the same.

Things like skillchains/magic bursts were strickly from FFXI and FFXI only, so it does make it more like that. Now I do agree they need to add more things, but as far as constantly adding the same things EXACTLY as they were, we do not need.
Well, as far as battle regiments vs. skill chains. I have yet to perform a successful regiment. So by skill chains, I pretty much mean, get rid of the whole one person queues it, and go back to visual/timing like in XI. It wasn't that hard, I remember getting chains and bursts off all the time. Keep most of the current abilities, maybe add some of the old favs from XI (like Rampage, one of my personal favs), toss in an auto attack where you can select from the basic attacks available for your weapon type so you actually have time to do things like move and chat during a fight and viola!! Well, at least IMO.

Housing was marketed as Linkshell housing if I recall, so honestly here, I'd like to see SE just follow through. And chocobos were supposed to have a greater purpose in XIV than they did in XO (again my wording might not be 100% what was advertised, but you get the jist). 6 months into release, and we still have nothing but a bird in town with an NPC who says there aren't any birds.

I'm guessing the hooks are in the game, the modules and what not have yet to be written, I don't know.

On the bright side, the world isn't interesting enough to warrant needing transportation for the sake of exploration, but getting around for quests sure is a pain if you want to walk, and teleporting just removes immersion for me. I wish they would remove it and aetherites completely now that mp regen is in the game. Following that, now that side quests are in the game, they could just remove leves all together provided they add enough side quest content to keep people busy levelling a class from 1-50. I'd rather do the same 1000 quests 10 times than the same 50 quests 200 times.
