    This is not FFXI.

    I will try to be as blunt and nice as possible with this post.

    Because people keep misunderstanding what I am stating, I am not asking that we leave out good ideas that were in FFXI. We need to change the, lets say, FFXI behind it. For example, Mog houses. We do need in my opinion a form of housing, whether it is solo or for linkshell, but we do not need strickly a mog house. We do need things VERY similar to FFXI, but not the exact same thing. Do not misunderstand, FFXI had so many good things that I would like to see in the game to. Anyway edit end. O.o

    Frankly people keep saying stuff like "Oh we need skill chains and magic bursts" "We need to rename the classes to be the same as FFXI" "We need mog houses!" "We need more crispy bacon." Whatever the case may be.

    Now I do agree a lot of issues need to be fixed or changed, but making this game by constantly just taking stuff from FFXI will make this just a remake of FFXI, like FFX with FFX-2.(and we all know how that turned out) We need to look towards key thinks that people seem to be ignoring for the most part. I have seen mention on other topics on things that need to be looked at, but things such as these are more important then naming classes or implementing skillchains and magic bursts:

    1) Reorganization of Party Search Function.
    -Reason being is due to recent patch on Doblyn lots of people are getting more and more into group grinding. We need to fix this function so it will encourage more group play.

    2) Re-evaluation of Linkshell Setup.
    -Touched up on other topics in more detail, but in short allowing the /kick function of inactive members, applying a linkshell message, and/or detailed linkshell list, as in ranks/location/current job, something along those lines.

    3) Implementation of Different Transportation.
    -Like all FF chocobos are classics and the airships are a given due to maps. A lot of people are having to create anima mules just to port due to lack of transportation as well as pay for teleports. I know SE has talked about it being implemented soon enough, but also like Yoshi P stated awhile back on deathports not being very FF like. As for a solution maybe offering the Return function costing 0 anima instead of 1.(excluding death of course which is already 0)

    4) Linkshell House/Storage
    -Now I do not mean mog houses at all, I did like that in FFXI like most people but this is not that. Since multiple linkshells at this point farm NM's and also collect HQ mats, it would be beneficial to all in linkshell if they could have a storage system where leader and/or officers could keep tabs on HQ mats, NM drops/gear, gil, anything the linkshell needs that can be distributed.

    There are so many things that could be listed here and that should not be. Such as a mailing system or bug/glitch fixes.(Things that should) Now I do not think these issues above are the most important issues at all, they are just one of the few and which most of them have already been brought up in Yoshi P letters. However, I would just like to see people stop trying to implement everything that was in FFXI. I did love playing FFXI, but I came here cause I want to try something new and I am sure you all do also. So instead of saying they need this or that from FFXI, try thinking of other things unique or a hybrid.

    So how about posting some new ideas not related to FFXI, I mean there was good things like the party function in FFXI that I think would work great in here, but not things like a skillchain/magic burst. While those were good in FFXI, battle regimens fit the battle style more for this game.

    So in basic try to think outside of the box of FFXI, we do not need specifics from it, only generalizations(mailing, transportation, classic FF moves, things like that)

    It would be interesting if they explored the possibility of using Battle Regimens to temporarily summon demigods (aions, GFs, etc.) to help you, or perform really poweful magic spells as a group... imo anyway

    They already tried to make this game not like final fantasy 11 and even tried to avoid many great aspects of other mmos and look how successful this game turned out. I rather have had an 11 clone

    This I agree with on all counts. This game will never be success on just passable if we adopt most of XI. We need good ideas that meet a middle ground. I think FFXI and WoW are the best games to compare because they are completely on two different sides of a fence. I have stated before that this game will ONLY be successful while maintaining its own identity if they find the grey area of the two(or fence in this case).

    Just to state, I am not talking about Yoshi P or the team behind FFXIV. I think they are doing a awesome job overall. I am talking about players who keep wanting stuff from FFXI. Prob should of just edited this in, but whatever. <.<

    I agree with most of what you said.

    The players that shown the most interest in having an "FFXI clone" are in the minority, albeit a very vocal one. The first polls has proven that majority of players (more than 50%) have never played FFXI before.

    I do not disagree with the notion that some elements of what made FFXI unique and work well should be looked at more seriously and maybe to incorporate it in some interesting way into FFXIV. However, I left FFXI because there were many things wrong with the game. I've played many other MMO games and they all had something unique and interesting to offer and I think SE shouldn't ignore this fact. They would do well to largely protect what's unique about FFXIV while researching into what made other MMO games more successful and then incorporating some ideas from those titles into this game without copying and pasting the exact idea code for code.

    But this discussion is relatively dangerous to have with the community way after the release date has past. I don't want to see SE "bow" to pressure from the community and do whatever it asks because majority of the time when that has happened in the past with many other games, only disaster followed.

    Now i know your takeing it off of my post. BUT what you just stated is things from 11 in some way shape matter or form. allbeit not excatly thesame . And that is what i was getting at. I want 14 to be totaly different then 11. But i want SE it make things flow like thay did in 11. Thats wat i was getting at. The Macro sysem n 11 was great.
    example /equip main "wrightslayer" and it would equip now its /equip and you have to remember double words get " " and single words dont. The LinkShell i agree with its a mess again 11s Linkshell system was great so again why reenvent the wheel on that one? Your asking for a Linkshell house? well thats like when i said i would like a mog house or a place that is our own place. That dident mean a mog house but something like one. So all in all you want what we all want a much better game that flows as easy as 11 did but isent anything like 11 and to that i agree 100%
