Cape Westwind is almost impossible to enter

Hi FFXIV developers.

I think this has been reported more than once, but you absolutely need to change how the Cape Westwind works. It is not in any Duty Roulette and is consequently almost impossible to enter.

I shouted for help in game but could not find any guild wishing to help me (my guild is a small guild of IRL friends, we are only 5, and I'm the only one that raised this point of the main scenario).

Here is what I mean...



I already passed tons of hours in the queue without having more than 3-4 people together, mostly dps.

This is going to kill the experience of newcomers, which is naturally not what you want for your game if you want it to last.

I have to say, this is the most frustrating thing I have ever saw in a game...

By the way, the rest of the game is pretty awesome. But I'd like to advance a bit and am stuck at this point since a few weeks now.

It is not in any Duty Roulette and is consequently almost impossible to enter.

Its in the Trials Duty Roulette. I've done it 3 times this week. Maybe my world hub has more new players connected still doing this or your may be playing at times when the servers aren't at its peak trying to do their daily duties. Also helps to make sure you have all 3 languages checked. not sure about join party in progress for this. but good luck

Issue with Trials roulette is I know people WHO still don't have it unlocked because it's gated behind the Hildebrand quests (need Gilgamesh to unlock Trial ROulette). Hildy is hilarious but many for whatever reason can't tolerate his quest line.

Well, I'm playing from Europe, I'm mostly trying when it's around 10AM east time. Maybe that's why.... but during 2H I only saw 1 DPS queuing with me... and he gave up after 30 minutes. I dont understand why I cannot get a groupe during 120 minutes of queuing if there is a trial roulette (I was not aware of this trial roulette, I dont have it yet).

You're playing in the NA section (Primal). If you want to find people around your time, go to the Chaos servers, it's EU.

Edit: Servers have their own groups to Duty Finder each other. Not every server is connected to each other.

It is tough.

You can try going to Mor Dhona and shouting for help. If no one will, offer a reward. You'll get 4-6 people who whisper you that they'll do it for free.

No idea why, buts that what's happened every time I've done it. Guess when you show people you're desperate, they'll help. Tis good enough for me.

This is a huge problem and Trial Roulette SHOULD work like Duty Roulette used to (pre 2.2) where you could queue as long as you had 3 available options.

But then there's a slew of concerns:

1) What keeps people from ever unlocking a particular instance (ex Pharos when it was released) so they never have to run it? Essentially, making your roulette a guaranteed mix of things you want to run. (Say: Avoiding Cutter's Cry if you hate dealing with Chimera).
2) Avoids the "I don't know the fight" issues....
3) The idea of the roulette is to get players to replay older instances (since a large chunk of the playerbase is high-max level I'd bet), so it kinda circles back to point 1.

Unfortunately, Cape Westwind isn't easy to get into these days, nor was it ever. I wish there was an easier way, but at this point, you kinda need to rely on PF or rally up Friends/FC members.

Did you try putting up an entry in Party Finder? There has to be someone willing to help. Its a tiny duty

I actually haven't unlocked it yet because I'm too lazy to redo hydra and chimera <.<
