    Rebirth = Araise (roughly) in JP

    Why the name difference? I have NO connection with rebirth in Final Fantasy, but I do with Arise. Why do you always do this SE? We should get our traditional translation of this ability! Please, stop making up new words for abilities that we all have a basic understanding of from past games. Time to make a localization post.....

    I don't know, but it is making me semi-upset about the naming. Why are we Marauders, but everyone else has Executioner? Starting to think this localization team is taking naming licenses too far.

    To bring attention directly to the localization team. And as not many people on the general boards probably go to the localization board, to bring attention to them as well, I posted this on the general discussion to see if others agree with me.

    Personally I want some of the classic names back too, but I think Localization did something right because it means special skills can still show up later but on jobs. Asuran Fist which is a staple of Monks was renamed to Simian Thrash. That doesn't mean Asuran Fist can't show up as a Monk only ability later.

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    Eh its just a term either way. Both somewhat suggest what it is and to me personally I like the sound of "Rebirth" over "Arise". To each their own though.

    Anyway....

    The ability being named this when it basically revives to no negative status isn't a "Rebirth". A rebirth is a renewal of a new life. This is still the same life. Naming it something like that is misleading to me. Giving it a name of Arise or Full-Life is more accurate. I doubt we will ever have Arise in the game as this is the end-all to raise.
