I think your overestimating how useful Cure III's small radius is to a class that needs to conserve mana.
In most situations where the party needs to be topped off quickly after a big hit from Unavoidable AoE ( Titan , Garuda's Blast, Aetheric profusion, Turn2 etc...), the party should be stacking anyway. A Good WHM will use a macro to call out when he/she about to use Cure III so party can gather.
Succor AoE heal is lacking when it comes to Topping off the party, and if Whispering dawn is on cool down, You'll need 2 or even 3 succors (800-1200mp), triple the mana for what one cure III would have done in 1 GCD . Also, if you have a good party who's good at dodging, most of the time the shield from Succor wears off anyway. So alot of the time what end up happenning is your spending 400mp for a 150potency heal. Not very effiecent if you ask me.
I'm not saying SCH needs a equivalent spell to CureIII, that would be broken. But i do feel SCH need a AoE Pet Healing ability thats not on a 60 CD.
Heck I'd be happy with a 100potency pet AoE heal on a 10sec CD.
