How to successfully Grow Glazenuts... a guide

I have been successful in my efforts to grow Glazenuts in our garden.

1st... you need the correct seeds and soil.

Seeds you need to harvest... via Botanist...
Honey Lemon Seeds - Costa Del Sol - 5am-8am - Slot 1
Prickly Pineapple Seeds - Costa Del Sol - 9am-12am - Slot 1

Soil you need to harvest... via Miner...
Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil - Hozion (x18 y28 area) - 5am-8am - Slot 8
(you need 370 gathering + 332 perception to be able to gather these)

You need to get yourself some Apricot seeds via cross-fertilization.
To do so... we need one garden bed that is formatted as follows...

P - Prickly Pineapple Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
H - Honey Lemon Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil

Once this is harvested... you go on to plant the following bed now that you have Apricot seeds (should produce 3 of each)

A - Apricot Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
P - Prickly Pineapple Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
H - Honey Lemon Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
X - Scarecrow

This garden bed (above) should produce both Royal Kukuru seeds and Apricot seeds

Those seeds should be planted alternating next to each other as follows (you will not end up with 8 sets... just showing you an ideal layout)

R - Royal Kukuru Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
A - Apricot Seeds + Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil

This will then produce Glazenut seeds which you plant and get 1 Glazenut.

If for some reason you run out of Apricot seeds for either bed... which will happen, you need to plant the 1st bed again to harvest more apricot seeds.
If you are just after Royal Kukurus seeds... those you can get with a bed of Honey Lemons and Apricots alternating.

So... those are the basics of growing Glazenuts. Rinse and Repeat as needed.

Thanks for the guide. I hope it works, because that's nearly three weeks of growing stuff!

Two important corrections: firstly when gathering the seeds they are in the 1st slot, not those you've listed. Secondly you don't need 370 Gathering or 332 Perception to gather them. They're on original Unspoiled Nodes and their gathering rate behaves the same as items from original 2.0 nodes. There is no minimum like the new nodes; you won't have a 0% with too low gathering and you could harvest them successfully with 0 perception. You just need to be level 46 to use Truth of Forests.

You do need 370 Gathering to get the Soil on Miner, however.

According to the Garden thread on BG forum, all cross-fertilizations are double cross only, there are not any triple cross in this game so far.

Just curious if anyone has a similar guide for producing jute.

Also.... why didn't the devs either make jute produce 3 or have the yarn only require 1. Nobody is wanting to put in the effort to grow 3 plants to end up with 1 yarn. Its kinda sad really.

not sure if its been updated or not but when going to the final stage of making the glaze you can crossbreed with apricots and get another set of glazenut seeds

Also you can possible get 8 seeds from one large patch in one round with right crossbreeds in place. I was successful in getting 2 royal k. and 4 apricots from one patch. using a format below where A was an apricot, P was prickly p and H was Honey Lemon.
Replacing the Honey lemon at the bottom with a Apricot seed might in fact produce a total of 4 apricot seeds and 4 royal K seeds from one garden. I also used lvl 2 thanalan top soil for the whole patch.

Still working on jute, believe its a cross with azeyma rose and nymeia similar to royal k and apricots.
