Looking for pro advice for MNK Rotations.

What is the best quick burst rotation for killong adds etc?

Whats the best Rotation for a Long boss fight or something with alot of health?

Shoud I use steel and howling fist asoon as they are up if I dont need them elsewhere? Should I use internal release at start of fight or wait until gl3?

What is the most important attribute other than strength and Dem? And how to distribute the attributes?

Dont expect one person to asnwer all this, but any advice would be great Looking for high level monks to asnwer this for me peace.

Also any video links to pro players playing anything will be great

You won't rely on a set rotation. It's more of a priority system with our buffs/debuffs/DOTs. You'll find yourself doing different things in different fights based on disconnects target swapping, etc. I'd say in general start here:

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Temple-Reborn

You'll find a lot of information on what you are looking for in there as well as supplemental information others have added to it. That thread is sort of a restart of the old Monk Temple Thread which was very big and the creator apparently long abandoned.

Less a priority system as it is a experienced semi-conscious decision to weight the pro-cons of a move set potency combination vs positional availability.

it's potency vs positional vs buff, since 2.1. Repeating a flank combo, to wait for an opportunity on rear and vice versa is a decision mnks make every moment they're in battle.

That thread is stupidly long to the point, that it would confuse people more the help IMO.

You know what you just described is a priority system, right? Also what I linked is the one that's redone and only 11 pages. I wouldn't think that thread would be to the confusing level yet. Now the old Monk Temple thread, yes that would be confusing and is really really long.

No a piority system would be drg type that has a sequence you follow base on 3-4 key factors.

Mnks have to predict ahead since their priority doesn't work, because mnks are stuck into a time conundrum.

That's why mnks will clip everything depending on if they want to preserve GL/dot/buffs vs damage.

Let's say you attack from the front for any reason. There is no priority system there Every decision seems logical just that you have to predict ahead.

Example would be Front facing conundrum:
2: DK vs boot. Boot won't crit but has a higher potency, yet DK has a debuff, with lower potency

What do you do? Will you get a rear opportunity next or a flank opportunity or neither?

Can you predict which move you want to use?

Mnk have to live with decisions like that by predicting the future.

That's true. Monks were weather forecasters in their previous lives.

A priority system is when you are faced with multiple options, and you have to determine which is the most appropriate attack given your conditions: Foregoing a positional and staying the course, clipping or not clipping a DOT, determining if a buff/debuff has the time left to last through another set of moves, etc. As monks we have multiple options as such you have to place a priority on what occurs. So a priority system is what is used to determine what the best attack is for the situation that you are in. It's not limited to a narrow definition that you want to give it. Again, what you described before is a priority system.

I'm not saying that what you said was incorrect just that what you described is a priority system.

That's fuzzing the line there. The current mnk rotation for t8 for instance already defies logic of the priority system, by simply rely on brute force math aka intentionally letting buffs drop.

Mnks simply by definition have to "sit" in a position, so a priority system is like saying risk system, which in the loosest sense means anything and everything.
