How can I increase my FPS?

Right now I am only getting 10-11 FPS which really sucks. Everything on my comp is on its default settings. Is there anything I can do on my catalyst control center to improve my FPS? Here's my system info.

    Wndows 8.1 OS
AMD FX Quad Core 3.8 ghz
    8 GB RAM
    Radeon R7 200 series

I would appreciate it if someone who really knows their stuff could help.

Knowing Which 200 series GPU you have and if this is a laptop or not, would help.

This is what I tell everyone complaining about constantly crashing, driver issues, FPS issues (although there are SOME on the PS4).

The exact model number of your graphics card, and as Ispano said are you using a laptop or desktop.

I imagine it's a lower level 200 series with frame rates that low, you could check for a driver update, but beyond that you may even need a graphics card upgrade I don't see CCC giving you anywhere near 30 FPS (the least you should aim for).

Probably not. Though you didn't provide the specific video card, none of the cards in the R7 series are particularly powerful, since that's AMD's low end tier. Make sure you have the in-game settings set to the very lowest (which I believe is "Standard (Laptop)", but I can't remember), and consider reducing the resolution you're playing at. If you're at 1920x1080 (1080p) try bumping it down to 1600x900. You can try going even lower than that but it will look very, very ugly and you won't have much space to organize your user interface.

If you're playing in Windowed mode or Fullscreen (Windowed), try regular Fullscreen mode since windowed modes come with a (small) performance penalty.

Otherwise you'd need to upgrade your video card or play on a console.

    AMD FX Quad Core?

There's your problem, that's really just a dual core CPU with AMD's poor attempt of hyperthreading.

Upgade your graphics card as the R7 240 is not beefy enough. Processor wise you are allright, even though FFXIV is CPU biased the 3.8 Ghz should be sufficient AMD or not. As far as graphic card upgrades go what are you willing to spend? Heck almost anything will be an upgrade, but knowing a budget will help pinpoint a decent one.

If you don't wanna spend money, put eveything in the lowest setting catalyst (overclocking this card will be like giving a tutle a turbo) will not help, but honeslty that would be a diservice to your eyes as FFXIV may not be cutting edge, but it sure can look pretty at max setting.
