    Hey there, damo!

I was your healer in that Sunken Temple of Qarn run. I hope the experience was enjoyable and that you continue to go through the dungeons.

You picked up on my advice very quickly and did a great job.

Just a side note that marking mob kill order and AoE moves like overpower will greatly reduce the frequency of DPS and healers pulling hate off of you.

    Good luck in the future!

Thanks, you were pretty awesome yourself. A good healer seem to be the difference between victory and defeat from what I've seen
I did wonder why numbers kept popping up over the mobs heads to start with, pretty obvious once I realised. However I haven't figures out the marking yet as I didn't know it existed until today. I do overpower when I thought it was needed but I tend to run out of tp quickly if I spam it. How do you manage tp? Just not attack constantly?

Also, could someone tell me why sometimes I hear the loot drop noise but don't have a loot notification and no one appears to have picked any up

Since you're playing on a console, you're going to want to get accustomed to cycling through your hotbars. My tank, my healer, and my DPS all have 2 separate hotbars. One for battle essentials, one for out-of-battle essentials. The second usually involves quick target marking and chat macros, while the former involves macros and essential actions. I usually prioritise the most important on the right hand, and the lesser on the left, as the left is used for movement as well.

If you flick through you'll see the hotbar with all the read icons. You're looking for the one that's called signs. Bring that up and allocate 1, 2, 3 and 4 to hotkeys. From there it's simply a matter of cycling through enemies and hitting the appropriate number. There are other ways to alert players to the target using macros, but this is a pretty simple way.

When you hit a mob, your first point of call is to build aggro as quickly as possible. Get Flash from the Gladiator tree. A double or triple flash is an excellent way to build that enmity up quickly. I've watched Marauders and Gladiators from the back end as they draw aggro, and have played both, and I have to say that hands-down, the Gladiator's Flash trumps anything the Marauder has for building immediate mob aggro. Also, Flash uses MP, not TP, so you can pop off several where needed without taking a hit to your TP (which you need to deal the damage to build the aggro).

That SCHINK sound you're hearing is your Limit Break bar activating. This allows you to use your LB.

    1. Marauder can use Flash, but it has only limited use, if you play your Marauder correctly. (=> utilize overpower and proper positioning)
    2. Marauder has such a small Manapool that you will be able to only do like 3 Flashes befor out of mana.

    3. and most important:
What i bolded out is so untrue.
Marauder has Overpower, wich, while it does not hit a circle around you, hits a quite large cone in front of you.
It does slightly more Aggro than Flash on the PLD, even more Aggro than Flash on a Marauder (as blind weakness is PLD only), and much more Aggro then Flash if you use damage CD and maybe your Bloodbath CD.

Maybe your judgement is biased because you started on GLD?

It's not a bias and the judgement didn't come from playing GLD. It came from playing the healer, and watching Marauders struggle to acquire and retain aggro consistently, on top of taking more HP damage. Fair play to your corrections on flash use though.

I picked flash up and have it set to my second hot bar. I didn't realise it uses mp through so thanks for the tip, will mean I can lay off spamming overpower use to build aggro. I have 2 sets of hot keys and have been just using those, one for main for battle, second for over world, companion, teleport, key items and emergency healing. As I hit 40 its becoming more and more obvious that 2 sets of bars won't cut it, plus I have to switch around battle abilities if i'm level synced as I sometimes forget something is locked out mid battle and end up breaking a combo. Can you set up hotbars but not have them to cycle for when you don't need?.
Also, is there a way to tell how much aggro you have built up?
And lastly, is cure worth having and using as an additional or is it gonna be underpowered regardless of my level

You open a chest in a dungeon, its an item for your Specific class, and you desperately need it!
But an obvious Lv50 rolls the greed on a the armor/weapon that they dont even need (its likely going to end up on the Market Boards).

Then there's the Loot Cheaters, who seem to roll 90+ on every single armor/weapon obtained from a chest.
Huh? Methinks you don't quite understand how the NGP system works. You can only roll Need on gear that is your specific class. It doesn't matter if other people Greed on it your Need overrules their Greed. So people can't take your class specific gear from you unless you don't roll Need or you're a DPS rolling against another DPS who Needed. Then you have a 50/50 chance. You can't Ninja loot in this game.

@topic I've played MMOs with a mechanic that allows a group of/single player(s) to experience a dungeon on ez mode (like setting up the tier 10 lvls below yours, duo party manageable or the game assigns npc allies if you go solo etc) and its purpose is nothing more than a simulator or an interactive map. Nothing beats the experience of trying out the dungeon firsthand. I hope @OP you find a regular group to practice with/get wiped out with lol

I just duty find when need be and have accepted a few invites from random parties looking for a tank while I've been out and about. Don't mind if it helps someone else out as once I've completed it once, I have a better idea of how to play it next time. I've been lucky so far and there is normally at least one knowledgeable person in the group so normally make it through. Its funny when it is all new players tho and they follow me. I have to pretend I know what I'm doing lol
