Being a healer in pvp is so scary lol. I finally found a perfect use for my 6k hp and that is pvp.
If i put up sacred prism ( enhanced to 30 secs ) and stand in there with divine sealed regen and sometimes medica 2 i'm untouchable in a sense lol.
I use sure cast then just spam stone skin. For some reason even their wholmgang and other stunny stuff gets negated, i believe it's cuz of the stoneskin as it absorbs dmg and is an 18% shield of my 6k hp.
So technically u need to deal around 1050 dmg to break my shield but during tht time i will be reapplying stoneskin over and over and over till the tanks / dps switch targets lol. If that fails for a bit i pop attunement then aura fluid on tank after.
I'll spec my other points into pvp vit so hopefully i'll get around 6.5-7k hp.
It's all about survival now i think..?

It's not a PvP focused game, the 3 main city-states are not truly against each other, they're unified for the threat of the Garlean Empire and also the Primal Threat/Ascians.
2.3 is looking to change that. Here is the new scenario, World was almost destroyed by Bahamut. The Garlean Empire threat stopped and the nations struggling to survive, it's only a matter of time before they turn on each other, a fact the Ascian are looking to exploit. Hence Frontlines.

Did one PVP match. My first one last night. It was rather enjoyable actually. That being said, I know PVP can get bogged down some times. I hope there are work arounds to this.

Wouldn't it be good just to give people a break stun PVP skill? Hell, put it on a 5 minute GCD. At least it would give you one stun break. And this would be much harder for casting classes. I was playing as a Bard. Feels like Bards have an advantage in PVP. I could be wrong though. Not experienced enough.

    >.> Thing I hate about PvP are the massive walls they have in the arena. Blm? Smn? Nope, people just run behind it, screwing you over. If I remember right, the trailer back during it's release didn't show the walls, so it's kind of a let down when you go in as one of those jobs only to find out they have them lol

Actually from what I understand 'Frontlines' is much like the Wolves Den lore-wise - it's combat training. The three nations are not going to war against each other (as that violates the pledge the three leaders made at the end of Operation Archon, to uphold the alliance and that the Grand Companies would be eventually united under one banner) - the whole point of the Grand Companies and the Alliance is for that very reason after all, so that the nations would not end up fighting one another while the Garleans invade.

Basically Frontlines is just a training exercise - a large scale one to be sure, but training none the less. Think of it like wargames rather than actual war.

And what about sprint? Casters can use sprint freely while melee have to spend all of their tp in order to attempt to catch up.

It's SE, did we really expect them to be good at PvP, I guess you never experience ballista in FF11 OP.

Wellfooled and Gesser pretty much made a simple point about PvP. All these complaints on how unbalanced a particular class/job is, only exist in low ranks (this will be fixed in a coming update where you immediately get all the skills), where people are still working out on how PvP actually works. Once you get more experience, and get more PvP skills, you'll see how balanced and how steep the learning curve is, the fun factor is subjective to each individual, but for me, who is only rank 14, while I know I'm not as experienced as the others, I can definitely see how PvP just keeps getting better and better as you rank up.

5 matches isn't enough to judge PvP, I'd say even 100 matches isn't enough to judge PvP, especially if you're only after the wolf marks for glamours. PvP can be a lot of fun, but only if you work hard for it, for some, getting to rank 40 is gonna be a grind, but for me, it's just a trophy you get, for working hard and having fun along the way.

On a side note, you might want to do level 40 pvp first, else you'll get destroyed by rank 30+ (don't know if they changed it yet, haven't bothered to look lmao)
